I've debated the following cards and have decided to leave them on the sidelines for now until further testing:

  • Endless Ranks of the Dead: After countless playtesting I can conclude that this card is just too slow and is a removal magenet. It mostly yields 4 tokens before eating removal.

  • Noxious Ghoul: Nonbo with my commander, but can be a potential boardwipe. Needs further testing.

  • Ghoulcaller Gisa: Great synergy with the deck for zombie generation however the initial casting cost, same CMC as my commander, and no ETB impact breaks it for me.

  • Geth, Lord of the Vault: Too mana intensive and conflicts with my need to leave up mana for my commander's activated ability.

  • Cemetery Reaper: Too slow and mana intensive for a mediocre ability. I usually want to leave up mana for my commander's activated ability.

  • Undead Alchemist: Nonbo with my commander. I want to zombify creatures but undead alchemist exiles them.

  • Prized Amalgam: It doesn't come back immediately so it can't be abused.

  • Risen Executioner: Too slow to matter.

  • Necromancer's Stockpile : Needs more testing.

  • Phyrexian Delver: Not enough ETB abusing mechanic to warrant inclusion.

  • Phenax, God of Deception: Still debating about its inclusion, needs further testing.

  • Liliana, Death's Majesty: Too slow for zombie token generation and volatile in a 4 player pod.

  • Jace, Memory Adept: The mill is nice but also puts a huge target on me which often gets him removed before I can abuse him further.

  • Mana Crypt: This and Paradox Haze just breaks it for me. Having a chance of taking 6 damage every turn is not worth the mana acceleration for a casual zombie tribal.

  • Necropotence: Testing reveals that I don't really need that much of a draw since I will be holding mana up to reanimate with my commander most of the time. This card is also a nonbo for some of my discard abilities.

  • Breathstealer's Crypt: Still needs testing. Sounds great in theory but may be a double edged sword.

VERY Good! How is your early game looking? After a lot of play testing today, I am adding a couple land and a couple rock... I was sitting on 6 mana a LOT!!!

VexenX: Hi, playtesting varies with either a durdle-fest in the first 3 turns or a fast hand if I drew my mana rocks. I often times hover around 6 to 7 mana...I think that having more 1/2 drops might solve that problem which unfortunately will have to break my zombie theme up!

StoneKiller33: Undead Alchemist was initially in my list but realized it was actually a nonbo with my commander since I want to reanimate the creatures instead of exiling them straight up.

For what it's worth, I plan to run Undead Alchemist in mine, as you can respond to the exile trigger with Scarab God's exile ability. You get the Scarab God token as well as the 2/2 black zombie token. Completely subjective, though. I like it.
