*** Hornet Queen is just 4th copy of Hornet Nest so the token button appears in the Playtester
So I got this idea to abuse Hornet Nest with a Burn deck to create tons of tokens and create direct damage with Purphoros, God of the Forge. He is so effective as the tokens hit the field that I run 4 even though he is legendary.
Sylvan Caryatid ramps mana to get Purphoros or Xenagos out early.
Raise the Alarm and Hordeling Outburst start the token machine and feed Xenagos for more mana.
Xenagos, the Reveler can make a Satyr token each turn to trigger Purphoros but the mana flood that I get from all the creatures the deck creates is the real game changer. 10+ mana can let me empty my hand or hit Crater's Claws for big damage on Hornet Nest. I can also open up Secure the Wastes for 10 tokens or double or triple hit Purphoros' second ability when I am swinging with everything.
Then comes the Burn with Roast and Crater's Claws. I like to wait to burn Hornet Nest until my opponent tries to remove it from the battlefield and fizzle their spell. Titanic Growth gets used to pump my opponents attacking creatures so that Hornet Nest blows up big.
Wall of Essence gives me a creature that nobody wants to attack early so I can get my board setup. I just wish I could burn it also for Lifegain.
Descent of the Dragons is the finisher! This card crushes those games that stall out when I have a bunch of tokens out and can't attack into an established board. If I have Purphoros, God of the Forge on the board, dropping 4-8 dragons on the board usually ends the game instantly.
Thanks for taking a look, comments and +1's always appreciated.
Sideboard:
Back to Nature smokes all Enchantments and I don't care because I don't have any.
Anger of the Gods takes out Aggro and Warriors.
Banishing Light gets rid of anything
Lightning Strike additional Burn.
Setessan Tactics goes in against decks with big creatures so I can fight Hornet Nest.
