Hour of Devastation Update!!!! —July 12, 2017

So, unlike my Avacyn, the Purifier  Flip deck, this list got several major updates from Hour of Devastation. In no particular order:

IN: Fraying Sanity, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Lotus Cobra

OUT: Makeshift Mannequin, Tempt with Immortality, and Oversold Cemetery

Jin-gitaxias is a blast to play! Victimize a jin-gitaxias and sheoldred feels even better.

I still really enjoy your list. I've made a few changes to mine this season and have almost finished the primer. Take a look if you have the time. My list

kilgore: I'm very happy with my new changes. Particularly, Entomb for Dread Return is pretty sweet :D I need to update the primer soon, though.

Have you ever considered Sword of Light and Shadow?

It feels like an investment. You need 5 cmc to cast and equip the sword and then get damage through. And it recurs only to your hand not the battlefield. :/ So this realistically means bringing back a 4 cmc or less creature. Because I don't really want to hard cast a jin-gitaxias.

I think Phyrexian Reclamation or even Palace Siege might be better suited for this role.

This is a really solid deck and something I would like to play against just for the hell of it.

xander11: It's very fun haha :)

Do you mind giving a more substantive comment, or an upvote (as requested on the Advertise Your Deck page)? An upvote is fine if you like the deck ;)

Yeah, how does this hold up against more control based builds? For example I have an Erebos deck that makes it so you can only play black, do you have any answers to that kind of control?

xander11: I assume that it's a Contamination-based build? If so, I have two options:

1) In this specific case I wouldn't be immensely bothered. This deck can play fine only working with black spells (since my reanimation is in black).

2) In general, though, I can either rely on another player to help me deal with it, or kill you with a fast combo before you can set up your control. In practice, most disruption doesn't harm me that much (with the notable exception of Rest in Peace-type effects), because I can play around it or outrace it.
