This deck is meant to do all the same stuff the Mikaeus, Extreme Sub $20 Budget EDH deck does. Kill the entire table at once with an infinite combo. Mazirek, kraul death preist is basically a golgari Mikaeus, the Unhallowed . He... it is almost more Mikaeus-ey than Mikaeus. If you like infinite combos you'll love this deck, if not... maybe click on a different deck.

Most of the combos in this deck involve three or more pieces.

  1. My main man... sect... .. Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest ! Obviously the most fair commander ever to exist... .:cough:. ._.
  2. A creature with persist: Aerie Ouphes (doesn't need a sac outlet as long as you have flyers to target), Puppeteer Clique , Rendclaw Trow , or Wingrattle Scarecrow
  3. A sac outlet: Dimir House Guard , Varolz, the Scar-Striped , Viscera Seer , or Yahenni, Undying Partisan

If you have the 3 previously mentioned combo pieces, that creates an infinite ETB loop with the persist creature. This is enough to win in many cases, just attack with your infinitely buffed commander or sac outlet. If for some reason that isn't enough or you have too many opponents, there are additional cards to ensure victory. Add in one of these combo pieces for various results:

Honorable mention:

  • Fecundity / Grim Haruspex : Draw your whole deck. (Careful not to kill yourself). This doesn't technically win you the game but if you draw your whole deck and can't win in the same turn you maybe should get a new hobby...

What the heck is going on with card prices?! The original build increased in value by over $100! It is much more difficult to build a good deck with cheap cards now-a-days because as soon as the good cheap cards get discovered they start slowly increasing in price until your $0.50 Sylvan Safekeeper is over $8 at the lowest. I've completely overhauled the deck and added more redundant combo pieces and instant speed removal and additional ways to protect the strategy. The current build could probably go up against some very high power decks. Hopefully this will stick around the $40 price for a while.
