HIdra,not sorry,this bad mamajama excites me in more ways than I like to admit. With that being said, below I'll go over some key strategies you can enter into. Because believe me, you have a few options depending on opening hands. Want to go infinite as early as turn 5? We can do that! Want to stack up on some beefcakes? You already know, but we'll still look at that ;) Lets slice into this scrumptious little tart shall we!

Now if you happen to start the game with a hand delivered to you by Mark Rosewater himself you can end the game as early as turn 4! Pemmin's Aura and Freed from the Real do tremendous work!

Some of the AOE game winners include:

  • Exsanguinate

  • Torment of Hailfire

  • Walking Ballista

    As well as some political single target player removals such as:

  • Blue Sun's Zenith

  • Damnable Pact

  • Profane Command

  • Villainous Wealth great advantage going into everyone else left!

  • Rogue's Passage if you happen to have this out you can use the of Pemmin's Aura to commander damage some unfortunate soul.

  • Now the end game is absolutely to get infinite, but we cant always get that :( So since we will be casting some nice chonky spells regardless we inevitably generate some tasty hydra tokens with large amounts of counters we can utilize some neat-o combo tricks!

  • Vorel of the Hull Clade having this guy out and untapped while attacking can be devastating. As soon as one of your well sized hydra beauts' is declared unblocked, BOOM, someone is taking some serious dmg!

  • The Ozolith oh boy! this fine piece of craftsmanship right here has so much potential depending on your state in the game. now if you have this out in combination with something like our vraska its easier, but people are going to swing in on you and you are gunna lose a lot of your pets. Fret not though, with this oozy contraption we will store all them +1 counters! What are we gunna do with em'? I'll tell ya! smack em on to one of our tramply bois! this card will just make your army that much harder to deal with and you can store up as much as you like before dumping on some one! such fun! always a good time with this left untouched!

  • Ramp as much as possible when possible early! if lucky, we can open with one of the combo pieces in hand. Either an bomb or our infinite enablers. then draw into them or one of our tutors. In the mean time youll definitely have beefy buddies to pound face with.

    If no bombs or infinite pieces fall into your hands early game its chill. maybe pulled into our Gyre Sage we can just focus on that pump action mana shotgun for our bombs. may not be fatal completely, but absolutely crippling if used at the right time. The Ozolith can also stack into our 12gauge mana sage shotgun to get to a potentially lethal bomb state! theres juuuust enough control in this to keep our board up and our beautiful commander out to play!
