Added it also added Vedalken Orrery . Being able to cast the auras like instant speed fight spells seems good. Also Whip Silk with flash is awesome.

pipercraven I've added these cards to the maybeboard. I like them all but I don't know if they all deserve a slot.

I'm happy with how it feels now.

Interaction question here - do enchantment auras trigger Gargos, as they don't say they 'target' a creature. Little confused there.

Also liking the combo of Mortal's Resolve for 1 Gargos Trigger, also making it indestructible to kill off any deathtouch threats, then hit it with Bounty of Might .

It may be a sorcery speed combo, but it'll remove 4 threats pre-combat and make Gargos huge for turn and an attack phase.

Yes, an Enchantment Aura specifies a type, and must target a permenant of that type to attatch to.

think about putting Isochron Scepter it'll be good for your instants

Good suggestion. It was one of the first suggestions I heard before I started to build this. But it all came down to how many instants the deck has. It will most likely not make the cut do to the fact that it would be a dead draw of I have no instants for it to imprint.

It's got the right idea. Its miss ramp though. I'd love to help you once you've added ramp and cut it down to 100

Thanks for the upvote

Actually Unbound Flourishing (you may choose a new target, just choose any other hydra to become monsterous) and Hydra Broodmaster lets you boost any other hydra, this way any hydra can become monstrous, so it is still a good mana sink.

It works even with other cards like Polukranos, World Eater

janbenes123, are you sure that's how that workÅ›?

TheBigSkipper says... #17

Monstrosity abilities have no targets. They're self-referential and affect only the source creature.

TheBigSkipper I think you're right. Even though Unbound Flourishing says that you may have a new target for it.

JUDGE! we need a judge. Someone get the judge.

It should work, it is activated ability and Unbound says that you can choose a new target, so i think it should.

Some fight-friendly cards: Druid's Call (special mention for triggering Gargos on its own), Rite of Passage , Scythe of the Wretched

All of those are awesome. Definitely gonna try to find a spot for 1 or more of those.

Also, the CMC-to-land ratio seems a bit off IMO. I'd suggest cutting down on some of your big non-Hydra cards for cheaper alternatives and two lands (something like Ancient Tomb & Cavern of Souls would make a relatively big difference, I think), both to get out Gargos more consistently and to generally being able to do stuff earlier.

Oh and to be a bit less of a stick in the mud: You might want to consider animation cards like Quirion Druid & Karn, the Great Creator for widening the types of targets Gargos can fight.
