Trying to tune the deck to beat creature (green) based strategies.
Karn, the Great Creator is a decent one sided stax piece against non-green deck which either rely on artifact ramp or artifact combos. (primarily Isochron Scepter) However as a mana planeswalker that can be attacked into with generally useless loyalty abilities, it doesn't make the main deck.
I see no Zur the Enchanteror Kess, Dissident Mage and very few other non-green decks in my meta. Even Urza, Lord High Artificer has very few problems with Karn.
Supplemented by the best long game countermagic and removal, the deck retains complete meme status and I suggest you don't play it.
