How much longer? Experimental Frenzy storm

Modern Combo Storm UR (Izzet)

sg_86

When I saw the Guilds of Ravnica set in full, two cards jumped out at me:Experimental Frenzy and Doom Whisperer; Doom Whisperer because it was broken, and Experimental Frenzy because I saw a huge amount of potential. So I made this deck. Experimental Frenzy, Magus of the Future and Precognition Field are the main build-around cards in the deck. I get one in play, and then I cast the whole deck until I hit a second land or for Precognition Field anything not an instant or sorcery. All of these cards have different upsides and downsides; none of these cards is just better than the other. Magus of the Future allows me to go through my library while still using my hand, and there is no limitation to what it can cast off the top, but it costs 5 mana, and it is much harder to cast at 2UUU. Also, being a three-toughness creature means it dies to Lightning Bolt. Experimental Frenzy also has no limitations to what I can cast off the top of library and it is a much easier card to cast, but not being able to cast what’s in my hand is not to be ignored. Precognition Field comes with the ability to change the top card of my library, but it has limitations to what I can cast off the top.

The problem with these three is that if I hit a land, I stop going off. Taigam's Scheming, Stormcaller of Keranos and Wand of Vertebrae all deal with this by getting rid of the land. Also if an Experimental Frenzy is on top, I wouldn't want to cast it so I could get rid of that as well. Taigam's Scheming goes deeper than the top card, so it is very good.

The rest of the deck is filled up with rituals and our storm cards of choice, Grapeshot and Empty the Warrens. These are what we want to hit with our Experimental Frenzy.
