Higure wasn’t keen on fighting Konda on the battlefield, knowing his ninja would be outmatched in open combat. He sought allies with Ink-Eyes, who agreed action must be taken to preserve Kamigawa. Ninja always worked better in the shadows, so while Isao, Toshiro and Yamazaki twins built their armies to meet Lord Konda in the field, Higure and Ink-Eyes would work to regain That Which Was Taken and return it to the Kami.

It would be no easy task, as Lord Konda was very watchful of his prize. They would meet resistance from his retainers, to be sure, and there was no guaranteed safety from the Kami either. The Kami were already keen to destroy samurai and other mortals due to Konda’s actions. And by trying not to expose themselves anymore than necessary, the ninja could not very well go to the Kami for peace.

It would be a very bloody war with the Kami fighting against Konda and the other samurai simultaneously. Higure had to place faith that the forces of Toshiro, Isao and Yamazaki twins would be enough to hold the line while they accomplished their task and ended this war for good.
