This is my first crack at a Pioneer deck, based on the UR Emerge deck of Aether Revolt standard.

The core of the deck is Stitchwing Skaab/Haunted Dead, and they're used in three ways:

1. As Emerge fodder for Elder Deep-Fiend

2. As enablers for Prized Amalgam and Fiery Temper

3. As recursive threats (alongside Prized Amalgam)

The ideal hand would have a discard spell on turn 1 (Merchant of the Vale, Lightning Axe) to discard Skaab or Haunted Dead, some Amalgams and/or Kozilek's Return to discard to the reanimation ability on turn 2, and an Elder Deep-Fiend to play on turn 3.

That doesn't happen often, but even when your draw isn't perfect, the deck is still pretty powerful; for example, discarding a Haunted Dead on turn 1 then discarding a Prized Amalgam to it on turn 2 leaves you with 6 power that you can attack with on turn 3, with protection and removal spells like Izzet Charm as backup. Discarding two Amalgams or an Amalgam and Fiery Temper can lead to even more favorable tempo, and with the big octopus on top of it all games can spiral out of control quickly.

Notably, most of these plays can (and should be) made on your opponent's turn, which gives the deck a lot of versatility between answering opposing threats and playing your own. Kind of like a control deck in a sense.

Explanation for the title: I translated "Emerge" into different languages on google translate around 30 times then translated it back into English.
