This is tight! Never seen Oracle of Bones for some reason. That ability is badass. Will go nicely with your Flurry of Horns.

Now I have to rebuild this hardhitta71194 and I have no idea where to start.

And yes, Oracle of Bones was there to facilitate Flurry of Horns. It let me bluff a lot, too. My friends never knew if I had Flurry of Horns in hand, when I cast Oracle of Bones.

You mean rebuild to accommodate the new Minotaurs? Will Neheb, the Worthy become the star?

hardhitta71194 yeah.

Thing is, I don't actually think I can build a much better Minotaur deck than the Standard one I just built.

Maybe I will take that as my starting point and put in all stars like Felhide Petrifier becoz dat deathtouch, tho.

I agree your current standard one is bomb! I would do just that, take that one and "upgrade" it with the better Minotaurs from this deck.

I'm guessing this is a casual deck right? That's what I love about casual, I can use whatever cards I want. I would like to start playing Standard sometime though. I just completed my Drake Haven deck. It may not be competitive but wow it is fun as hell! I love playing it, it has become one of my favorite decks.

Drake Haven is such a cool card.

hardhitta71194 I would suggest you jump into Standard and try whatever deck you want to.

Some Standard local metas aren't too competitive and janky decks do quite well.

Even if your local meta has Tier 1 decks you will usually find that not EVERYONE is playing them.

As long as you're happy not placing in the Top 4, and are OK with winning a couple of matches here and there, a good time can be had.

You can always choose to not play but, if you don't at least try, you might miss out on some of the best Magic experiences you'll ever have.

Yeah, the nearest game store to me is about an hour away, that's the main reason I haven't went yet. I'm not sure what the meta will be like. The town I live in has a population of 2,500, we are lucky to have a walmart. Lol

I am gonna go one of these days though! I defiantly think I'm missing out on some awesome Magic. I don't have many people to play with here so it gets boring sometimes. I really just wanna meet some new people that play.

As for winning, like anyone else I like to win but I'm not a sore loser. So not top 4'ing won't bother me especially not my first time. I expect I will be nervous and make a bunch of misplays but oh well, as long as I have fun!

My Drake Haven deck is just the one the Prof did a video on. I usually don't netdeck but I really liked the deck and couldn't build a better version. I still have some lands to obtain. Spirebluff Canal mainly. Gahhhh that price.

How much do you think it would effect the deck if I ran the tapped lands until I can get the fast lands? Right now it's replaced with the tri colored land, Frontier Bivouac but it will have to go when I actually go play at a shop.

hardhitta71194 you're a lot more advanced than I was when I first started playing Standard.

I turned up with a 75 card Mainboard, no Sideboard, Mono-Red deck.

I think it took me three months before I even won a game.

The meta was full of Tier 1 decks, and people who had been playing for 20+ years.

Here was me, building my own decks, and with a notepad that told me how to play each step.

Play a Land
Tap to play spells

hardhitta71194 it actually does make a big difference playing tapped lands at FNM.

It puts you behind the curve in your early game.

Since a lot of the decks will be aggro (it's usually that way at the start of a season) you need to keep up with them.

If you invest in a playset of Spirebluff Canal you will able to use them for quite a while.

Lol! I miss when I first started. Opening junk rares in boosters and being soooo hyped to put it in my deck.

I figured, I plan to invest in the Spirebluff Canal though. Probably next month I've already spent my limit I set myself this month. Since I build so many Izzet decks anyway they should come in handy often. I usually use Shivan Reef in my casual decks, the games usually don't last long enough for the 1 damage each time to matter.

hardhitta71194 I LOVED Shivan Reef being in Standard.

I was so sad when they rotated out.

May 19, 2017 8:51 p.m.

It's one of my favorite lands, very nice for casual players and people who are tight wads like me.

The thing that makes me mad (figuratively) is that the Izzet lands are always more expensive than other colors.

Yeah it's because Afinity for Artifacts is one of the most popular decks in Modern, and it is in Izzet colours.
