Could you tell us about your goals for this deck/in general? Do you want to make decks that are kitchen table casual, Friday Night Magic, or tournament competitive? Also is it Modern, Frontier, or Standard? Also what's your budget? This would greatly change how to approach deck-building.

When building a competitive deck, the most important thing to remember is that some cards are just massively better than others. For example, you're playing a lot of creature removal which are just worse in every way than a mix of Go for the Throats and Dismember.

Your deck is very reminiscent of Monoblack Devotion when it was legal in Standard. If you like this style of deck, you could just try playing Modern Monoblack Devotion.

Oh, also it would make your decklist much easier to read if you go to Edit, and under Default category select Type.

@Escesare, thank you for your help on the whole decklist thing, a lot on here still is new to me, ahah and my goals for this deck, well I've formed this deck years ago and my goals were to make it pretty aggressive in both aggro and big creatures, some self healing and target destroy spells to make it fun. I've never really made decks with strategy as I just wanted something more play as you go. I've never also played in Standard or in tournaments which I would like to.the one thing I find that is hard building an more competitive and aggressive deck is the number of great cards out there that are high mana cost to some that are pretty alright and low mana, there's still some cards I wanna save up in getting due to the expenses but all of this is really helpful for me and thank you for taking the time to sorta lay out a few options for me to make my magic more fun. (:

@Escesare, also to get back with a few of your other questions, I like playing Modern decks and I've sorta wanted to do both with having a more competitive deck and friday night magic deck, but for this one It's more of a friday night magic deck then competitive and my budget right now isn't that great, I could over time with tips save up for the more costly cards.

I'm a bit confused. Friday Night Magic is somewhat casual, but it's still a tournament so it has a required format like Standard or Modern. Formats restrict which cards you're allowed to play. For example, the Malicious Affliction in your deck is illegal in Standard and Modern. If you're just playing on the kitchen table with friends, you're free to play whatever cards you want. Depending on which you want to play, you have to change your cards.

Take at look at this Modern-legal Budget Monoblack deck. It's only $30 total, and the most expensive cards in it aren't even necessary.
