The problem I see is two-fold:
Nearly impossible to draw cards - if you do not have your PiF + Grapeshot or Gifts in hand, it is impossible to win or draw into them.
Too much do nothing spells - all untap effects are necessary to win to get enough storm count and mana, but they do not help you get to your win, unless you already have the win condition in hand.
Bottom line - draw more cards. You need ways to draw more and less ways to untap lands. Here is a Heartbeat storm deck I built for a made-up format. Some cards are not modern legal, but should give you some ideas:

I highly disagree. You don't need that much card draw, and will often either get Gifts or Harmonize, then storm out the following turn, whether that's t3 or 4. I've considered adding Ideas Unbound back into the list, but so far I'm not convinced it's right. Thanks for the response though, and I will look for any card draw I can find that would work well in this deck. Personally, I think I currently have too many untap spells and have been considering cutting Hidden Strings to a 2-of, so adding some more card draw is a possibility I'm am comfortable with. Thanks!
Btw any ideas for the SB? I've been working on that very thoroughly, but I can't find the right balance.

Are 8 draw spells really enough? Youve got a lot of ways to get a lot of mana but if you dont chain into gas youre in trouble. Also, Snapcaster is a good addittion to go with gifts.

Snapcaster is a good card, but not very good here. Since you already have Past in Flames, your stuff gets flashback anyways. Just so you know, it's easy to go off if you use your Gifts Ungiven right: Get Twiddle+Dream's Grip+Early Harvest+Past in Flames. They will probably grave PiF and Early Harvest (because it is the right play), but either way you now get to generate usually around 10+ mana and cast some stuff from your hand and flashback PiF. Only cards ALREADY in your grave will get flashback until end of turn (That's why they should always put the PiF in your graveyard), but you can easily flashback a bunch of untapers and your gifts, netting you another PiF, some card draw, a grapeshot and an untapper. Cast your shit and this will almost always result in game.
If you haven't tested the deck before you might not understand how to arrange the correct gifts grabs, but I have tested a lot and can tell you for sure that there is enough card draw. Normal storm NEEDS lots of card draw because they struggle to generate as much mana, so they always have to be drawing into more rituals, but each "ritual" in this deck generates a lot more mana, so therefore you require less card draw.

Yeah, I really don't know how else to fix anything here. SB also looks pretty solid in terms of dealing with the meta game. Really the only decks that are conceivably capable of killing you fast enough before you pull the trigger on storm are Aura and Infect and Echoing Truth handles both pretty well. The SB is also pretty good in terms of dealing with those control-y cards like Eidolon and Thalia. TBH looks pretty set to me.

How come? I have actually played both decks, and I can definitely confirm that this deck has been more successful, strange as that sounds. It wins on T2 like 5-10% of the time, and requires no creatures in play to win. None are especially well positioned right now, but I definitely think this deck is better.

Baral gifts is a lot more consistent in my opinion. Especially since both decks are somewhat the same price point. Along with what boza said I agree it's a little difficult to draw cards. And sideboard wise blood moon is really helpful. Shuts down a lot of decks even with Death shadow coming into the meta again and with a big fist to punch with. And bolt is super helpful sideboard wise. And when you side for affinity it looks like you would side in natures claim and that just requires you to up your storm count because they going life. If you were to have a better spell to just destroy an artifact shattering spree or shatterstorm would be better. Just my opinions. Along from a lot of testing with that goldfish decklist it is lot more competitive to me than ascension storm before git probe ban.

Getting storm counts of 30+ is most of the time. Card draw is pretty light, but I don't need much. As I said earlier, normal storm needs lots of card draw because they struggle to generate as much mana, so they always have to be drawing into more rituals, but each "ritual" in this deck generates a lot more mana, so therefore you require less card draw. I unfortunately see the same problem as some others in the chat. I've used that useful play test button and (almost) every time I was stuck with heartbeats harvests and other irrelevant things. The other thing that happened is when I finally drew into a manamorphose ect.... I just bricked again. What you really need is some serum visions. Every other combo deck plays them for a reason, because it's the best card filtering in modern. Finally the deck realistically goes off on turn six or seven and with no interaction the sad truth is you're just dead to almost any deck. I'm sorry I know it's really cool and unique but the turn 3 win you want only happens in Magical Christmas Land.

OK, I think this deck has draw issues too. But, there is an immediate upgrade you can do.
Swap some number of forests for their snow covered equivalent. Then you can tutor up multiple lands with Gifts.

That's actually pretty smart, and hence I will do that just to be safe, but just know that it is almost completely unnecessary. You will realistically never use gifts to find lands. You use gifts when you are ready to win.
