I came across this old combo deck and I knew that I just had to try this out.

So to establish the loop you'll need 5 lands, Gifts Ungiven in hand, and Dictate of Karametra in play. once you establish the loop (which is pretty intensive from this point) you mill your self until Seasons Past is the only card left in your library. you can then create infinite mana with a secondary loop, and win by making your opponent draw thier entire library with Blue Sun's Zenith . yes it's as crazy as it sounds and yes I think it's competitive.

This loop assumes that you have 15 tap-able mana, Seasons Past (in hand), Early Harvest (in hand or grave), Revive (in hand or grave), Gifts Ungiven (in hand or grave)

cast seasons past getting: Gifts Ungiven , Revive , Early Harvest in hand

9 mana still floating

cast Gifts Ungiven targeting Seasons Past (putting it in your grave)

5 mana floating

cast Revive grabbing season past

3 mana floating

cast Early Harvest

float 15 mana.

and now we're right where we began

On each cycle of the loop you can grab an additional card with Gifts Ungiven along with Seasons Past putting them both in your grave yard. until you mill your self out.

at this point when you cast Seasons Past you can also grab a cantrip ( Opt , Serum Visions )

so now that Seasons Past is the only card in your library you can draw it with the cantrip instead of the gifts into revive method, this will net you mana on every loop creating infinite mana.

once we have enough mana we grab Blue Sun's Zenith and cause our opponent to deck out. for the win

So for this example you will need 5 lands (2 being forests), Dictate of Karametra on the board, and Gifts Ungiven in hand

Cast gifts on upkeep: Grabbing, Seasons Past , Noxious Revival , Revive , Early Harvest

Worst case is that they put noxious and revive in hand

from here, there is not a pile that they can give you that won't end in a win if played correctly. your goal is to get Heartbeat of Spring into play and then untap to get the required 15 mana.

Example Scenario:

They give you seasons past and opt

cast noxious grabbing early harvest

cast opt drawing harvest

to 7 mana

cast early harvest

from 4 to 14 mana

cast seasons past (getting heart beat instead of early harvest)

to 8 mana

cast Heart beat

to 5 mana

cast revive grabbing early harvest]

to 3 mana

cast early harvest

to 15 mana

The deck kind of reminds me of a weird mix of gifts storm and KCI. The combo is centered around Gifts Ungiven with extra mana but the loop allows you to literally do whatever you want like KCI. What makes this unique is that you don't have to devote your entire deck to make it consistent. We're in blue and green so I've included ramp and filter to speed up the deck (it is turn 4 consistent). We are also able to include interaction, so the deck is much less linear. This (in theory) should make us much more resilient to hate.

I would love some feed back on the deck on how it sits, it's a very old concept that I feel like deserves to be revisited. It looks fairly resilient, I would love to hear your input on it and what the future side board should look like
