The name came from the fact that I'm using Omniscience and Lich's Mastery . Omniscient means all-knowing, and liches are powerful, undead wizards. So, an omniscient lich would know when you die. And you'll know when your opponent will die. Believe me... Before the end... They'll be wishing that they were...

Intro

So, my friend UrsaMajor42 and I were at our local FNM, and he played Jodah and the boys (opinions please), and Omniscience is a notable part of that, and I was a fan of Lich's Mastery , so I suggested, "Why not make a deck with both?" He just looked at me, grinned, and said, "Let's do it!" and that's how this deck came into existence.

Key Points

So, few things to cover. First off, the main goal of this deck is to get out Omniscience to play big spells. Lich's Mastery is just so you don't die while doing that. The second is, every card has a purpose in being here. Even if it seems like a stupid one.

Instants:

• Mission Briefing : This one's pretty simple. It's to copy Spell Swindle and Mastermind's Acquisition .
• Spell Swindle : This one's also simple. Counter big plays, and get out Omniscience

Sorceries:

• Mastermind's Acquisition : Get what you need, and anything else you might need from the sideboard.

Enchantment:

• Lich's Mastery : Prevent yourself from dying. Pretty simple.
• Omniscience : Play anything you want. Also simple.

Creatures:

• Death Baron : Give Josu's spawns Deathtouch and +1/+1.
• Diregraf Ghoul : Early-game body.
• Seekers' Squire : Early-game body, and this deck needs land drops.
• Etrata, the Silencer : One of the two finishing plays.
• Gravedigger : Get what you need out of graveyard.
• Isareth the Awakener : Get what you need out of graveyard.
• Josu Vess, Lich Knight : One of the two finishing plays.

Sideboard:

• Nexus of Fate : 2nd turn. Pretty sweet.
• Selective Snare : For tokens.
• The Eldest Reborn : Take something from their graveyard.
• Thought Erasure : For control.
• Unmoored Ego : Stop things like Omniscience or Lich's Mastery .

Finishers

So, this deck has two ways to win. One happens late and is obvious immediately, one is more subtle and also late. This deck is a late bloomer.

Josu Vess, Lich Knight

So, this ending is simple. Get out Death Baron , play Josu, use kicker, get 8 3/3s w/ Deathtouch and Menace.

(This ending takes 2-4 turns to finish.)

Etrata, the Silencer

This one is also simple. Play Etrata, hit once, get back with Mastermind's Acquisition , repeat. Also, exile their annoying creatures. (I'm looking at you, Zacama, Primal Calamity !)

(If you have 10+ lands or Omniscience , 2x Mastermind's Acquisition , or 2x Mission Briefing and 2x Mastermind's Acquisition in your graveyard, you can actually do this ending in 4 turns. Just Etrata, pass, attack, tutor Etrata, pass, attack, tutor Etrata, pass, attack.)
