Hawks of Land Destruction

Modern Land Destruction RBW (Mardu) Tempo

Sideboard

An update to this old deck to play land destruction. With the ban of Simian Spirit Guide, this deck can't be really competitive anymore. But you will still destroy lands. And your opponents won't be able to play all of their cards. And sometimes you win.

Main changes were to remove Nahiri, the Harbinger combo with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn as it is now way too slow, adding early interactions as destroying lands on turn 2 should happen very rarely with Portable Hole (incredibly good), Lightning Bolt and Chained to the Rocks.

We now can play Pillage as well, so turn 3 land destruction is mostly certain (and turn 4 also).

Mazemind Tome is available for everyone, and is a good card engine, playable before turn 3, so we can destroy lands turn 3 & 4, and once we have 5 lands we draw & destroy land. If it happens, then the game is highly winnable. Also this deck gets free wins against greedy manabases, and bad land draws & bad mulligans. Maybe we could use Blood Moon with land destruction after all? But it will be a different deck I feel. Gideon of the Trials is the MVP now as it protects itself, protect us with his emblem, and kills.

Boom / Bust is your way to destroy lands on turn 2. You have Flagstones of Trokair and Cascading Cataracts as good land targets for Boom / Bust.

Molten Rain Stone Rain Fulminator Mage Pillage are your turn 3 land destruction, and we just keep on destroying after that.

Gideon of the Trials is the main wincon as well as other planeswalkers.

Squadron Hawk and Mistveil Plains combo is a way to keep hawks on the battlefield. Either to kill or to protect your planeswalkers or yourself.
