Aggro Enchantment


Aim

This deck centres around ramping fast to get out Deus of Calamity and promptly enchanting it with Runes of the Deus, for a 8/8 with double strike and trample with added land destruction, then stomping over anything my opponents put out.

This can be achieved as early as turn 5 if a Zhur-Taa Druid is played on turn 2 followed by a Somberwald Sage on turn 3 allowing a Dues on turn 4 followed by Runes turn 5.

The supporting cast are also threats in their own right. With a Zhur-Taa Druid out on turn 4 a Ghor-Clan Rampager can hit the battlefield as early as turn 3. With a Runes of the Deus with can be a 6/6 double strike creature by turn 4.

Alpha Authority is included to provide protection from removal and Ordeal of Nylea provides both pump and mana ramp.


Key Combos

Deus of Calamity + Runes of the Deus
Forms an 8/8 double strike with trample and land destruction.

Deus of Calamity + Soul's Fire
Instant land destruction and 6 damage to an opponent to boot.

Alpha Authority + Gruul War Chant
Makes a hexproof unblockable creature.


Main Board

Deus of Calamity
The main threat in this deck, enchanting this with Runes of the Deus turns it into an 8/8 with double strike which means by by life and land for my opponents.

Genesis Hydra
One of the mana sinks in this deck to make use of the available ramp, allowing a dual cast if X is sufficiently large.

Ghor-Clan Rampager
The mid game aggro with the added bonus of a +4/+4 pump if required. This can also be made rather nasty by Runes of the Deus, turning it into a 6/6 with double strike.

Giant Adephage
Late game win condition as once it starts copying itself there's not much defence for multiple 7/7 creatures with trample.

Somberwald Sage
Makes up a key part of the mana ramp needed to get the larger creatures out as early as possible.

Xenagos, God of Revels
The haste and doubling of power means if it targets a Deus or Adephage that's been enchanted that creatures is going to do some serious damage.

Zhur-Taa Druid
One of the main sources of ramp in the deck with added 1 damage pings for opponents.

Alpha Authority
Instant and sorcery defence for the more important creatures in the deck. Coupled with Gruul War Chant this can make something unblockable as well as hexproof.

Gruul War Chant
Forces opponent to defend in at least pairs which when one of the win condition creatures is enchanted with Runes of the Deus results in an opponents defence being eroded rather quickly as well as the extra +1 pump for added damage.

Ordeal of Nylea
Incremental pump and mana ramp, what's not to like.

Runes of the Deus
Main win condition when targeted at either Deus of Calamity, Giant Adephage or Nessain Asp.

Soul's Fire
Teamed with Deus of Calamity this provides instant land destruction or alternatively a removal option due to the power of the creatures in the deck.

Xenagos, the Reveler
Extra mana ramp to get the larger creatures out faster as well as spam defence if needed.
