GW Human Counters

Took my White Weenie Human Deck Pre AR and shook it up. Added green (which i never play) for the Awesome Synergies between Humans. Lots of 1/1 Counters spamming a board, HumaNs Getting BIG FAST. Going to run this FNM, Looking for suggestions.

Looks good so far. If you're going for humans i'd focus on maximising synergies. The planeswalkers are good against control decks, but can't put out humans, so i personally have them in my sideboard. An alternate source for +1 counters is Collective Effort, which can turn into a 3 for 1 under the right conditions.

Heron's Grace Champion is a 4 of for me. It easily wins games when racing aggro decks or swings combat when opponents block. I'd pick him over Verdurous Gearhulk any day. Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip is also worth playing imho. Good luck at the FNM!

Really like this too plus 1 from me! I would consider playing 4x Metallic Mimic though that card is just nuts. I've play-tested it in a human tribal boros aggro and it was unbelievably good (link here Boros Face-Stomp). The fact it isn't a legendary creature and can stack on itself is just bonkers too. Maybe cut the Lambholt Pacifist  Flip's for them (it's a good card but you have better). With 2x Mimics in and 3x Pacifists out you have 1 extra slot for either another piece of removal or Oath of Ajani which would be awesome in here too. I'd run 2x Oath of Nissa and 2x Oath of Ajani personally. The removal can be another Declaration in Stone or Immolating Glare/Thopter Arrest for budget versions. Cheers mate!

@ whompkin Thank you for the Suggestions. I had mixed feelings about Heron's Grace Champion. I think you have a great point with regards to mirror/Aggro race type of Match, The Verdurous Gearhulk Provides me with Large Creature Options when necessary, my favorite being 4 counters on Maulfist Revolutionary which would typically have a counter on by turn 5 thereby Swinging 8/8 Trample. Collective Effort is definitely a no brainer here, I only had 1 copy in my personal collection, Stopped at the card shop by my office today and they had none, NOt sure I will have them before Friday, in exchange I will plug in the Nissa, Voice of Zendikar for a +1 and then -2, two turns in a row. Thanks again for the insight, Plainswalkers Vs Control. I like it!

@ Drizzurp Cheers to you! I have considered Oath of Ajani in the sideboard to combo off the Plainswalkers, Trying to figure out where to make a cut is the challenge. Metallic Mimic FTW!!! I agree and aim to procure another pair. I was fortunate enough to pull 2 between the prelease from a few weeks ago and the booster box I just opened last night, when I saw it I knew exactly where it was going. The Lambholt Pacifist  Flip has been phenomenal in my preliminary playtesting with friends. He fills the 2 drop slot so well and having 4/4 attacker on turn 3 makes me smile, best part is he only gets bigger from there. I am having a tough time finding a better 2 drop to replace him with. Mana Curve Baby, Mana Curve!!

Quick Update, Played tonight against RG Energy deck with Electrostatic Pummeler and Bristling Hydra with tons of instant boosts. Heron's Grace Champion Was indeed my Champion tonight, Won me 2 of the 5 games we played. The only game I lost, his Electrostatic Pummeler went off and hit me for 30 on turn 3 or 4 and was unblocked. I side Boarded in Immolating Glare and didn't let that happen again. Looks like I got a deck to be reckoned with here....i'm sure there are a lot of guys saying that right now in this Deck Brewing paradise that is Aether Revolt.

You could consider Acrobatic Maneuver instead of Oath of Nissa. Provides lots of casting opportunities for all your ETB humans, combat trick, and a cantrip.

@beanrocka1 I would say that Long Road Home is strictly better than Acrobatic Maneuver unless card draw is a necessity (which in this case it doesn't appear to be).

@Drizzurp The only thing is that the creature gets returned at the end step, so you lose the potential combat trick --I.e. Buffing your creature or getting that life link again mid combat.

A considerable problem with both of those is that any creature targeted would lose any +1/+1 counters it already had. Besides, many of the creatures don't have ETB effects.

Played in a tournament on Thursday. Went 3-1, and took 2nd place with this deck as it is shown, there were 18 players in the tournament. Was able to trade for 1 additional Metallic Mimic before we got started. Only loss came to a G/B Aggro /Counter Style deck, similar to mine, his contained Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet Verdurous Gearhulk and Winding Constrictor. I won game 1 and sideboarded Immolating Glare for Declaration in Stone, he brought in Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, next 2 games were close, but his Verdurous Gearhulk won it, I would not keep up with the 8/8's. I think his was the deck that won the Grand Prix in Columbus, not sure but I'v seen a lot of G/B in the top 8.

With regards to Oath of Nissa it has proved very handy to scry 3 on turn 3 to find Thalia's Lieutenant or Lambholt Pacifist  Flip and be able to drop it, or another land if needed. I am thinking i will drop Gideon, Ally of Zendikar from the sideboard. another thought is to replace Immolating Glare with Blessed Alliance

Thanks again for all of your input.

you need to be running 4 Renegade Rallier and 4Metallic Mimic you also need to run oath of ajani instead of collective ffort. why? because you can play a 2nd oath of ajani. kill your first oath play rallier. bring back 1st oath kill 2nd oath. you just gave all your creatures +2/2. forever. he can also bring back thalia's lt. Oath of Ajani

drop oath of nissa for ajanis. drop maulfist for ralliers.

As the Meta Game has been evolving over the past few weeks, the original build seemed to keep losing steam. With Fatal Push and Shock seeing a ton of play in my local shops, I found I needed to add defense. Blossoming Defense was a no brainer. Drizzurp thank for the suggestion of Long Road Home it works perfectly with the new build.
