My introduction to Magic was the intro pack that included Phytotitan that I bought at the urging of my friend who has played for a while. Dragons of Tarkir was the block active when I began Standard, and Hardened Scales was the first card I got that I wanted to build around. After building a Standard deck and trying to play multiplayer with my friends who all have amazing modern decks, I decided I wanted to make one too. Auras and counters are the two playstyles I really thought were cool...I wanted to make a creature massive and protect it lol. One of my friends told me that too often creatures that got auras put onto them were simply 2 for 1'd and that the easiest way to get an aura onto a creature was to put auras onto creatures that were already protected...he told me I should play bogles...and so this deck was born...
