The purpose of the deck is to use the new exert mechanic to full effect by either untapping creatures with spells or giving the exert creatures vigilance. It's pretty easy to do. Don't be put off by Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger or Decimator of the Provinces as they are targets for Champion of Rhonas. They make it onto the battlefield with regularity, which is pretty astounding!

This is just an idea that I've been testing. I've tried it against my other decks and it does very, very well. In fact, I played 6 games against my zombie deck (Gerry's mono-black zombies-- the same deck that just won pro tour Amonkhet!) and it beat zombies 5 out of 6 times without sideboarding this deck at all.

I'm curious how others might fair if they play test it. Give it a try and let me know hoe it works for you.

Champion of Rhonas was the inspiration for the deck. As soon as I saw this card, I wanted to cheat in ulamog, the ceasless hunger. I have tried several versions of this deck in a variety of color combinations, and I think that G/W offers the best combo.

Decimator of the Provinces is a fun 7/7 with trample and haste that can be cheated onto the battlefield with Champion of Rhonas. I only own one copy of Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, so I was looking for an additional target. The trample and haste of this card nicely fits this deck and give opponents fits.

Devoted Crop-Mate has really good targets in Gust Walker and Glory-Bound Initiate. This isn't the strongest card in the deck, but its exert ability has been useful more than once.

Glory-Bound Initiate is the other card around which I have been wanting to build a deck. This card is amazing when it is exerted, particularly when it has vigilance. Very good card.

Greenwarden of Murasa is a solid card to cheat in (or cast, if the mana and no Champion of Rhonas is available). Snagging any card out of my graveyard is very nice as an ETB effect, and I get another if it is destroyed.

Gust Walker is just a solid card that provides a flier when exerted. This has proven to be a very important card when facing the annoying zombies. Fly over them. Its lower CMC means that it can easily be targeted by Fatal Push, but it's worth the try and usually gets a couple of hits in before it is killed.

Manglehorn is here mainly for Aetherworks Marvel decks. It's usually the first card I side out for Tireless Tracker. However, having this main board has been effective against certain decks, so it is fine to keep in the main. It definitely surprises opponents when it shows up game 1.

ulamog, the ceasless hunger is here for one reason only-- to be a target of Champion of Rhonas! Yes, I am well aware that the ETB effects don't trigger from the Champion of Rhonas cheat, but attacking mills 20 cards, so I'm okay with not destroying two target permanents to get Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger out on turn 5 and attacking turn 6.

Vizier of the Menagerie has proven to be quite useful. I get to see the next card, and mid-to-late game can even cast those cards. This is particularly critical if I am drawing too much mana. Very good card.

Always Watching and the exert mechainic are made to go together! Giving vigilance to creatures with the exert mechanic is just insane.

Blessed Alliance is more for the instant-speed removal ("Target opponent sacrifices an attacking creature"). However, the untap option is good if I don't have Always Watching out, and the life gain ability occasionally comes in handy.

Djeru's Resolve is great early if I don't have Always Watching on the battlefield, and it's good if I do because I can cycle it instead and get some card advantage.

Declaration in Stone is just good removal, particularly against zombies! It sucks that it grants clue tokens for non-token creature targets, but sweeping away 3x Diregraf Colossus or a swarm of zombie tokens-- all for just -- feels pretty good...

Heroic Intervention is another card that seems to surprise opponents in the main board. it has saved creatures more than once, so I think it is worth keeping 2x in the main.

Canopy Vista and Fortified Village are nice dual lands. I don't often have to bring in either tapped, so they function well in the deck.

Evolving Wilds is nice just because once in a while I need to go get that specific land type.

Sandstone Bridge seems terrible at first, but in an exert deck it is quite useful! It does enter the battlefield tapped, sure, but it also gives a creature vigilance and +1/+1, which is pretty nice for exerting a creature. It's like having a 1 turn Always Watching .

Blessed Alliance, having a third copy can be handy against a midrange deck to force an opponent to sacrifice a creature.

Cast Out in case of Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Aetherworks Marvel, Heart of Kiran, or any other nuisances.

Declaration in Stone, a fourth copy because we live in a token filled world.

Dissenter's Deliverance because we live in an Aetherworks Marvel world.

Djeru's Resolve because we live in a Fatal Push world and this is a FANTASTIC answer to Fatal Push.

Gryff's Boon to fly over all of those zombies. That makes zombies sad.

Heroic Intervention is great for those decks that like to sweep the board. Good card, and excellent sideboard material.

Stasis Snare because we live in an Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger world.

Tireless Tracker is usually replacing Manglehorn. This is an excellent card and if this wasn't and Aetherworks Marvel world, well, Tireless Tracker would be a main board card.
