Guardians of the Forest

Standard* Ramp RG (Gruul)

Jaxables

Sideboard

Enchantment (4)

Land (2)

The main purpose of this deck is to ramp mana using the following.

Creatures: Elvish Mystic, Whisperer of the Wilds, and Shaman of Forgotten Ways.

Planeswalkers: Xenagos, the Reveler, Nissa, Vastwood Seer  , and Nissa, Worldwaker.

Sorcery: Explosive Vegetation.

Artifact/Enchantment: Sword of the Animist and Frontier Siege set to Khans.

Then I use this mana to push out the large creatures, spells or planeswalkers that follow.

Crater's Claws: With how much mana we are getting this can easily deal over ten damage.

Genesis Hydra: Usually casted at a fairly large number as well. A large creature that will most of the time give you another large creature.

Thunderbreak Regent: The least expensive of the cards in this section. Forces opponents to decide if its worth taking three damage to target one of my dragons. At worst is killed and deal three.

Atarka, World Render: Giving all of my dragons double strike makes her an extremely great card to ramp into.

Savage Ventmaw: Six mana every attack adds up quick. After three attacks you could Crater's Claws for twenty thanks to Ferocious, not including the other sources of mana you are bound to have.

Terra Stomper: I would pay six mana for an 8/8, paying six mana for an 8/8 that can't be countered and has trample in a ramp deck just seems insane.

Gaea's Revenge: Very large creature with very little ways to remove it without directly blocking it.

Ugin, the Spirit Dragon: It Lightning Strikes, it kills tokens with ease, and can end the game by using his ultimate if your opponent doesn't have an answer.

Of course you are probably wondering how you would survive long enough to play those cards. To help get the job done I have the following.

Goblin Rabblemaster: Very annoying creature that adds early game pressure. Forces opponent to waste a spell to remove it.

Surrak, the Hunt Caller: Im on the fence with this card, I feel that most of the time Formidable will trigger and allow me to sneak in a bunch of damage from an Atarka, World Render or something close to that.

Timberpack Wolf: Protection in the early game. Thinking about replacing with Glade Watcher.

For my sideboard I only have four Circle of Flames for games against aggro. More specifically mono red.

I would appreciate help on every aspect of this deck especially the sideboard. When leaving feedback I request that you not suggest cards from theros and to consider the price of the card. Anything expensive in this deck was opened in packs I won at FNM.

Thank you for taking a look at my deck! I look forward to receiving your comments!
