I took the shell of this deck (focusing on the creature and card advantage of the banners and bestiary) and went with merfolk instead of cats: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/budget-magic-95-15-tix-gw-cat-tribal-standard

Should note: I originally wanted to do something with a +1 counter shell using Herald of Secret Streams but I think a base card draw/card advantage template is potentially stronger. Also get to use Nissa as a proto-aether vial, with nearly all the creatures in the deck being 3 or less mana, she'll often hit targets at a low cost.

UPDATE: Looking at other merfolk deck and talking to others, I decided to move the shaper's sanctuaries into the sideboard alongside 1 kopala. They're great in tandem against certain decks, but I think I'd rather just have some removal effects. I don't know how effective the city's blessing will be in this deck, but I think for 1 more colorless mana, hitting all non-land permanents and potentially late game putting on top of the deck, stalling their draw, may be good.
