Hi I'm PixelProMTG with my deck here. This deck is focused on hydras that give counters. This deck has a late start so keep that in mind. How this deck works:
Step 1: Play your Hydras. Step 2: Play Vorel of the Hull Clade. Step 3: Double the counters on your hydras! Step 4: Flood your opponent with tons of powerful creatures and swing for the win!
Deck Comments:
Creatures
Birds of Paradise: A budget replacement for Noble Hierarch. Also can be used as a chump block.
Cloudfin Raptor: Your starting creature for some leverage against fast decks. It also has evolve, a bonus since you will be playing powerful creatures.
Elvish Mystic: A budget-friendly mini-Noble Hierarch. Also a chump block. I am considering to replace this with Noble Hierarch but I may not due to tight budget.
Genesis Hydra: A hydra with a bonus! Play another card with the same mana cost a X for Genesis Hydra for free! Soooo nice of a ability.
Hooded Hydra
: A hydra in this deck because... Its a hydra. Not much to say about this one, the only notable thing is the morph.
Kalonian Hydra
: A great hydra if you love attacking (Who doesn't?). Not only does it double the counters on this hydra, but all other creatures you control with counters. Pretty good.
Master Biomancer
: It gives your other creatures a little bump in power, who woudn't want that?
Primordial Hydra: The ultimate hydra. No hydra deck is complete without this one.
Protean Hydra
: Some people might shrug this one but it's okay at what it does: block it now, get a creature with twice the
Vastwood Hydra
: The hydra that is always helping. When it dies, give other creatures counters, why not?
Vorel of the Hull Clade: The core of the deck, play it with some hydras and get a beast!
Instants/Sorceries/Enchants Comments: Not too many of these here but i'll do them anyways.
Bioshift: Played Primordial Hydra early? Need to give it a boost? Use your other creatures to help it! Remember, sharing is caring.
Chord of Calling: Here to fetch your Vorel of the Hull Clade. Not much else to talk about it.
Hardened Scales: Harden your scales! Gives an extra counter, which means one mana saved! Yay!
Primal Rage: It gives trample, what else do you need to know?
Sideboard comments:
Mistcutter Hydra
: Put this in if you are facing control.
Chord of Calling: If you notice you aren't drawing Chord of Calling much, put more in!
Gyre Sage: I decided to add Gyre Sage so you can have your pick of Gyre Sage or Elvish Mistic
Other comments:
If you are working on a budget, you can take out Breeding Pool and
Misty Rainforest
and replace it with less expensive lands.
