Gruul was a tough deck to build for my 27-deck Challenge - Build and maintain an EDH deck for every possible color combination. I find creatures and attacking to be the most boring way to win in Magic, so Gruul was going to suck.

Being a Johnny, I didn't want to build a common deck. Being a Timmy, I wanted to win in a hilarious way. Borboygmos Enraged was in standard, and I decided it would be challenging and interesting to work on an EDH burn deck.

The result was a fun, super casual deck that wins out of nowhere. It's lack of interaction requires a bit of political finesse, bluffing, and panache in multiplayer games. Without those skills, you'll die fast and painfully.

But, your reward for playing this niche deck comes in the form of doing 40+ damage at instant speed, and the joy of killing players with game winning spells on the stack, to save the table to play another turn.
