I love tokens as anyone that has seen my decks knows, but I really don't enjoy the Abzan/Esper Token lists that are putting up some results. I find it dreadfully boring and grindy. That said, here is my take on Tokens for Ixalan standard.

Here is a breakdown of the cards.

Creatures Show

Champion of Wits is just an awesome card. The card draw is amazing in a deck that gets card draw from Rogue Refiner and the one Tishana (which isn't the most reliable of card draw engines). After playtesting with the deck, I determined to make it more competitive it needed more consistent draws and ways to refill my hand. Despite my love for Oviya, she does not provide this ability. Also Champion is great with Anointed Procession. Oketra the True is a great Hazoret the Fervent blocker and can bring the beats. She is also, yet another, mana sink for creating tokens. Something for which this deck is not lacking.

Pride Sovereign is powerful card. This isn't a cat tribal deck, but it has lots of ways to make cats including the next card...segue...

Regal Caracal is the cat lord for all of the cat tokens running around and the lifelink clause is quite relevant against aggro. It does die to many of the commonly played removal but at least it leaves behind some blockers that have lifelink.

Rogue Refiner is the ultimate value creature. Even with very light energy synergies, he is worth playing for card draw and decent body.

Servant of the Conduit is to help ramp into an early Anointed Procession or to be used with many of the other mana sinks in this deck.

Tishana, Voice of Thunder is the experiment in the deck. She seems like a 'win-more' card but she has the ability to end a game, as evidence by the one time I played her in a real match, drew 8 cards and left behind a 10/10 resulting in my opponent scooping. I could see cutting her for a single copy of Aven Wind Guide or some other finisher.

Non-Creature Spells Show

Anointed Procession is seen in many of the recent token strategies but it doubles tokens and that's pretty neat I guess.

Cast Out answers everything in the format. It is pricey, but flash and the ability to cycle it away in matchups where you don't need it make up for the cost in some ways.

Ixalan's Binding is also expensive, but it is a pretty good answer to hard to answer threats such as The Scarab God or Hazoret the Fervent

Growing Rites of Itlimoc   is in the name of the deck so it has to be in here, right? In all seriousness, something like Cryptolith Rites would fit well in this deck, since it has some heavy mana requirements and mana sinks, and this card has the potential to be even better than that. We shall see how it plays out.

Legion's Landing   makes a 1/1 and flips pretty easily in this deck into a super useful land that is, yet another, mana sink for popping out tokens.

So far this deck is pretty fun to play. It can get off to some slow starts so I am looking for ways to rectify that, but once it gets going it is tough to stop. Sideboard is mostly dedicated to beating control decks. I'll put a breakdown of that later on once it is more ironed out.
