Maybeboard

The description is definitely a work in progress. I'm still working on figuring out all the Markdown stuff to make it nice.

This is a rather janky stack that's basically designed to screw around with the opponents. I find that everyone in my playgroup has gotten a little too serious about the game; this deck is and always will be built to just shake things up a little.

It is meant to be played in 3+ multiplayer games, where it is mostly ignored until it makes things a little too interesting. It very rarely survives long enough in one-on-one to do much.

Back when I first started playing Magic, I didn't have enough of a cards budget to buy or trade to create any sort of coherent strategy. I played 5-color goodstuff out of necessity. This deck is a grotesque mutation of that.

I loved the wild unpredictability of it; the only strategy was to not have any strategy. It often fizzled into a loss, but every so often, much to both my opponent and I's bafflement, would explode into a victory.

I was introduced to EDH early on, and I've been hooked since. To this day, there isn't anything more fun for me than messing up the board state of a big multiplayer game and filling the air with curses and doves.

The Deck Proper

The deck basically accomplishes four things: Making mana, making advantage for me, making problems for the opponents, or pushing everyone forward a little. Ill describe my top five cards for each of these purposes:

This deck love to make a shitload of mana. I used to run Dictate of Karametra alongside the Zhur-Taa Ancient and Mirari's Wake, but tapping for 4-5 with every land was a little ridiculous, and they ended up getting cut. Its always hilarious to have 15+ mana ready on the board, though.

Mirari's WakeHaving doubled mana makes this deck into a powerhouse. A lot of the bigger problems in here come with a bigger mana cost, and this guy pushes me from 5 to 10 in a single turn.

Chromatic LanternHaving all of my land produce any color of mana that I want or need, while still maintaining any other ability they have, is an excellent ability. Chromatic Lantern is the ultimate in mana fixing, and an obvious inclusion.

Amulet of VigorMost of my dual land will enter the battlefield tapped. A lot of the time this drawback can be negated through careful planning of when and how mana will be needed, but another solution is the Amulet. This grants an extra turn to anything that would enter tapped, and is a huge boon when played early on.

Selesnya SanctuaryThe Ravnica Karoo land, such as Selesnya Sanctuary, are an amazing resource for a deck like this. Using untap abilities like the Amulet of Vigor and Kioras Follower, they easily pull double duty. Although their bounce effect means they dont actually put me ahead of the curve, they guarantee that I never miss a land drop and allow the recycling of Scry land.

Thespians Stage Thespians Stage is often used to copy one of the Karoos without having to worry about the bounce effect. However, if Im thirsting for a color that I can see an opponent has, it works just as well to copy their land to fix mine. Its always useful, and I never mind spending the to change it.

Now, all of that mana has to go somewhere. A lot of it I spend to generate advantage for me - drawing me cards, playing things for free, scrying, giving me information, that sort of thing. Its always a joy to have way more cards in hand than everyone else.

Prism ArrayGenerally considered the absolute worst rare in BFZ, I was honestly unaware of people dreading opening this as their prerelease promo. I don't really see Scry 3 that much, and having that filtering is a huge advantage in a deck with this much random variety. Plus it can tap down something nasty in an emergency, which is a nice backup plan.

Miren, the Moaning WellThis thing is a pretty huge part of the deck. It taps for mana, so I see it as a better Diamond Valley . I don't mind paying the mana for it, because, well, I've got plenty. See above. Both Bearer of the Heavens and, of course, Child of Alara need to be put in the graveyard for their effects to work, so why not gain a little life off of it?

Updates Add

So, it's been a while. Like, a year or more. I've kept this deck together and been modifying it heavily. I'll be updating the description and the list, and I'm resetting the comments and suggestions. The deck has changed quite a bit, so this will kinda be a fresh start.
