I have been playing magic with this deck for over 6 years now and it has seen a lot of change. Originally focused purely on the discard aspect of Grixus it now leans towards straight up control. Cards like The Rack and Creeping Tar Pit are a pretty reliable way to prevent the game from reaching late game. Duress, Thoughtseize, and Blighting are the go to cards to lower the amount of cards in your opponents hand. Waste Not helps me keep tempo as I make my opponents discard. Augar of skulls is a great utility card that has proven to be reliable over the years. It provides a solid chump blocker or sacrifice fodder. However, the real reason why you run it for it's wonderful self sacrifice ability that makes target player discard two cards. Kolaghan's Command allows me to recover it and allow me to continue to use its ability later into the game or to ping my opponents over time. Dragonlord Kolaghan is one of the stars in this deck. She punishes people for running duplicates of creatures or planeswalkers by making them loose 10 life! She is also is a 6/5 flier with haste which is nice as well. Liliana, the Last Hope pings pesky 1 toughness creatures and helps pillow damage. Her minus two ability also helps to bring back Augar of skulls or Kolaghan. If you pull off hur ult then it is a matter of time before you overrun your opponent with zombies. Sword of Feast and Famine can make Augar of skulls a bit bigger and do more as it attacks opponent. If Kolaghan is equipped with it then its probably game. Chandra, Torch of Defiance is a reliable way to ramp or cast a top deck card. Tezzeret the Schemer provides lovely lotus petals for further use. Other that he serves no purpose, if ya are able to pull off his ult then kudos to that. Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker is there if it ever goes to LATE game also its fun to drop him turn 6 as well either through Tezzeret or Chandra. He has been the core of this deck since I committed to a stupid dare to make a deck with him in it. I do not regret this decision one bit.
