Grixis Drakes Bolas Ultra Budget

Standard Budget UBR (Grixis)

Mwncisee

__First off a bit of a disclaimer/explanation. I am a relatively new player to MTG. My general approach is to find effective decks I see being played and would like to try myself. However, many competitive decks have expensive cards within them. My approach is to try to create versions of these decks but at a much lower budget. I have a personal rule that I will not purchase any card above £2. Cards between £1 to £2 are my grey area and I have to be convinced they are necessary. This leads me to try to find slightly worse but financially more viable versions of cards that will perform the same function in a deck. I hope this approach is one others will benefit from allowing players who need to operate within financial constraints feasible decks._

OK I~ will be honest and this deck is very experimental and not been played yet but I would welcome any thoughts and feedback on it. Really curious to see if it would work. A note regarding my disclaimer. all of it is true for this deck with the exception of the Nicol Bolas cards. I got lucky and got two from packs etc. I know may make the deck more effective if another two were purchased but that goes outside my rule so it will have to be restricted to just the two of them even though debatable how effective they will be. questionable if you ever get to the point where flipping them and getting to 12 counters to force the final consequence is ever likely or will happen. however I suspect the threat of this may well cause an opponent to be concerned enough and distract them enough they feel they have to deal with it.

I am really curious to try the Mirror Images. Not seeing them in many decks if any. Now the drawback is they are only useful if you have another creature in your hand that can be the source of the copy. You could end up with Mirror Images in your hand you cannot cast. Especially in a deck with so few creatures. However the plus side is their ability to circumnavigate the restriction to 4 cards of a type in a deck. In theory restricted to 4 Crackling Drakes goes to 8 potential Crackling Drakes. Or even have the Nicol Bolas's going from 2 to 6!

tried to put in plenty of control cards, some draw and some damage cards to control the board until you can really get the Drakes and Nicol Bolas's in your hand.

Again be interested to hear thoughts and my thanks for any feedback and observations etc.
