Week 3 FNM 2-1 —July 29, 2017

Pretty happy with this version but making some last minute changes to prepare for the GP meta with the pro tour meta in mind, mainly fatal push is coming back and grave hate is in the sideboard after this week for Gifts reanimator.

Match 1: 2-0 vs abzan midrange: My friend's list, he is an abzan player in modern and tried to transition the deck into standard having known the playstyle of the deck, unfortunately without the hand disruption of modern, he gets run over by control, hour of glory showed it was worth the slots vs gideon ally of zendikar.

Match 2: Mardu cow-people (minotaurs): Aggressive beatdown deck but not up to the pace of RDW, the white was only there for gideon. The removal+counter suite did work and planeswalkers ended the game. He was a new player though so I'm taking this match with a grain of salt, I spent most of the match teaching him how damage and redirections to planeswalkers worked as well as modular spells like abrade and supreme will.

Match 3: 0-2 UW Gift: This is why im doing some of the changes I am, It was the same guy who plays the WB Eldrazi deck he just wanted to learn another deck to see interactions he may face at the GP we are going to next week, 4/4 mausoleam wanderers and other flyers carry this deck so hard. Fatal push is going to be back in some number and crook is going in the sideboard. Push is also good vs the RDW decks and crook vs UR Control.

You have a large base, I'd switch out Unlicensed Disintegration for Never, as you can use Return for other things. Also, why Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet?

Check out my deck, maybe we can help each other?

ACDAMAN So unlicensed and never can easily swap places with preference. I like unlicensed main to help close out the games with gearhulk. the 3 damage has mattered a lot. Kalitas is a great creture to stop eternalize shenanigans and beats some of the worst creatures for a control deck to face like scroungers and other zombies, also the lifelink is a great asset to stabilize.

I looked at you list and saw some things I wasn't a fan of and somethings i was. I like scarab god in the kalitas slot (slot of my build that is) but I like kalitas more in my build. I also found the lack of a chanfra in a bolas deck very "wrong" for lack of a better word. she stabilizes the board, gives psuedo card advantage, reach, and a game ending ult. Also as much as I hate to say it but it was a hard thing to remove from me to is fatal push, its just not in a good place atm in standard. It misses eldrazi, glory bringers, revolt isnt easy to come buy to it misses most of the zombies. MY opinions but just some things I noticed. hope it doesn't come off as harsh.

psychosmurf96 Hmm... interesting adaption! I just don't enjoy using Chandra, Torch of Defiance as the only reason I see her in the deck is to ramp into Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh, but she does it extremely infrequently

ACDAMANI've found her to flame slash a creature and be a fog the turn after quite useful, also her +1 is a great clock/card advantage machine in the late game. The bolas ramp is just icing on the cake. I've even used the mana ability to kill opposing creatures with a removal spell while ticking her up or to cast a blocker.

psychosmurf96 huh, makes sense... Ok, that works! I've just tried using her as a ramp for bolas
