Hello Deckbuilders!

This deck is build for casual multiplayer!

When I first saw Immortal Coil in Alara, I saved 3 copies for later deckbuilding and since Bazaar Trader came out I never stopped developing this deck for my local games in the Store.

The Idea is, to tinker with "Gain Control" Effects and giving away stuff to the opponent. Many times I thought about integrating Illusions of Grandeur and the like but I always decided otherwise. So I deliberatly chose NOT to include the Enchantment-Theme into this deck. Into the cards:

• Take temporal control of opponents cards with Dominus of Fealty, Word of Seizing and Grab the Reins

• Sacrifice stuff I control temporarily without any or high mana cost with Greater Gargadon, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born, Dimir House Guard, Claws of Gix, Phyrexian Towerand again Grab the Reins

• Better than sacrificing the stuff I got temporal control over is giving me permanent control with Bazaar Trader. This works not for Planeswalkers and Enchantments. While Planeswalkers have abilities to decrease loyality or even kill themselves Enchantment-Removal is the weak side of this deck (I only have Claws of Gix for that)

• Things I want to use for my advantage and then give it to the opponents also for my advantage are Abyssal Persecutor (ever won a game without deckcards remaining or even lifepoints?) and Immortal Coil. If I can't donate the Demon i have tons of sacrifice options to get rid of it

• To use the Immortal Coil to my full advantage I need a graveyard of my own. This can be achieved by looting trough my deck with cards like Enclave Cryptologist, Champion of Wits, Faithless Looting, Sphinx of Lost Truths and Sphinx of Uthuun. Also a Stinkweed Imp, the Cycling-Duels, Fetch-Lands and Desolate Lighthouse fill my graveyard with additional lifepoints (with Coil).

• Then there is the Risk of my Instant-Death when I control the Immortal Coil. Thats where Greater Gargadon and Claws of Gix have there second job.

• And to make a kill out of an donated Immortal Coil I will need Graveyard Hate myself like Bojuka Bog and Nihil Spellbomb. Both have the advantage not to take a full card slot so to say because Bog can be played an re-used with Izzet Boilerworks while Spellbomb draws a card, gives me a graveyard and can be re-used with Beacon of Unrest

• Izzet Signet is important to convert black mana into for the possiblity of a turn 4 Dominus of Fealty. Same is true for the Filter-Lands (without the ramp)

• Lightning Greaves does help a Lot in this deck. Obvious is the protection and fast acces to the Bazaar Trader or acces to swift swing with an Abyssal Persecutor

• Note, that i only play 2 copies of Immortal Coil because i can tutor with Dimir House Guard have some looting and can get it back into play with Beacon of Unrest. The Deck is doing fine without the Coil-Win-Condition. Plus: Coil-Win-Condition only takes out 1 opponent (Deck is made for multiplayer).

• The Rest of the cards are supposed to keep me alive until I can start stealing or donating coil like Propaganda, Baleful Strix and Stinkweed Imp. I try to get rid of the Imp, because it discards without selection from top deck.

I tried a lot of other cards over the years like Helm of Possession, Viscera Seer, Infernal Tribute and many others and I'm sure you have some Ideas I haven't thought of...

... and I clearly need to work on my mana curve.
