Sideboard

Maybeboard

Here comes the machines.

Trying to keep it a little on the down low with cost. If I weren't, I'd probably add Walking Ballista and Metallic Mimic, naming constructs. This is even crazier with Scrap Trawler because Walking Ballista is CMC 0. Think about that for about five seconds. A free Ballista whenever something dies, if the Trawler gets to stick to the board. Sounds like gravy to me. Personally, I'd yank Ornithopter and Hope for them. Put Hope in the board.

Otherwise, this is a pretty standard deal. Artifact creatures, artifact aggro, artifact swinging. Spice it up with some removal and a few Tezzeret the Schemer 's. A test creature of sorts is Scrap Trawler, mostly because if anything at CMC 3 dies, there should be a target. Even sacrificing Hope of Ghirapur nets a free Ornithopter. If that doesn't sound like keeping the aggro up because nothing dies, I don't know what does.

The funky bit is the landbase, where utility lands that most other decks forego because of color fixing, come into play. Inventors' Fair, Sea Gate Wreckage, and Hanweir Battlements all come in handy. Spire of Industry is basically Mana Confluence without required pinging.

Sideboard wise, take out the non-exiling removal for the exiling removal. Hello Zombies. Goodbye Zombies. And yes, that is an Anguished Unmaking without a white land. Spire of Industry and Aether Hub have you covered for that one symbol. Board in the disruption and counters for control and everything's fine.

Sadly, turn-out for the FNM was rather low. To top that off, both matches didn't go well for at least one player.

First Round - Temur Marvel (Rogue Build)

My opponent cast a single creature over two games and never casted a Marvel. By the player, I suspect he wasn't using the 'real' build. I didn't really have to do much besides plop down creatures and beat face. Not exactly the best match, although my draws and curve were nice. Both hands had a few removal spells at the end of the match, which would've been used had my opponent played a creature.

Second Round - Temur Energy (Marvel-less)

The first round had beautiful draws and curves. This match didn't. Mainboard Magma Spray hosed Scrapheap Scrounger in the first game. Hit a wall of lands after playing all the threats. Proceeded to die to Glorybringer and the Hydra.

Game 2. Instead of having too many lands, I had too few. It took several turns to get past 3 and during that time, I had no colored mana. Proceeded to die to a Hydra that I could not kill.

Summary

I'm not going to change anything, since neither match was really a good test in my opinion. I'll just hope the turnout is better next week and report back.
