...So there's a potential infinite combo involving Ravenous Intruder, Pia's Revolution and Ornithopter which infinitely recurs Ornithopter to power the Gremlin unless the opponent takes 3 damage. Then you can sac Scrap Trawler to the gremlin and get your artifacts back. AND every time the artifacts bounce back to the field, Salivating Gremlins gets bigger too! You can throw Servo Schematic onto the field and then feed them to a Gremlin, then feed the extra Servo to him too. Plus there's some artifact theft to feed THEM to the Gremlins too! It's a boatload of skyboat hate.

I just wanted to put together a fun/vehicle trolling Gremlin deck and stumbled into the combo randomly, and the rest of the deck is built to make that happen.

Take out the inspectors they aren't doing much for you at all. Run 4 shock because, shock.

January 13, 2017 5:13 p.m.

What about Ruinous Gremlin instead of Foundry Inspector. I notice you don't have any one drops.

January 13, 2017 5:20 p.m.

TenaciousKey says... #3

I'll playtest both ways and see how they do. Ruinous seems redundant with the artifact hate spells.

January 13, 2017 6:44 p.m.

what about Metallic Mimic ?

January 14, 2017 10:28 a.m.

TenaciousKey says... #5

While I like Metallic Mimic, I have issue cutting to put him in. Maybe cut down on Workshop Assistant for him.

January 14, 2017 12:58 p.m.

What about Kari Zev, Skyship Raider? She is an aggresive creature that is powerful on her own. Plus you have her expertise

January 14, 2017 5:52 p.m.

TenaciousKey says... #7

I think I'll give Kari a shot, she's a better drop than the grubs for a fast deck.

January 14, 2017 6:29 p.m.

bigtor96 says... #8

How about Bomat Courier. Is a cheap artifact for the early game that can give you cards after emptying your hand. Worst case escenario he's just another artifact to fuel your gremlins.

January 15, 2017 7:03 a.m.

Maybe Key to the City would be a good addition to make your giant gremlin unblockable

January 15, 2017 9:36 a.m.

i second Key to the City. also i dgaf about standard but i always upvote for gremlins

Beatuful. Playetested it and seemed good. More sideboard cards needed.

January 15, 2017 7:26 p.m.

TenaciousKey says... #13

An 11/10 Gremlin with Menace swinging in turn 3 will do that. Sideboard is tricky for this deck since it's pretty aggro, I'm working on getting some cards to fight stuff like the Saheeli combo and Mechanized Production combo.

January 15, 2017 7:48 p.m.

Clockwurk says... #14

Shock beats combo put in the other 2

January 15, 2017 7:57 p.m.

TheRedGoat says... #15

Truly, Kaladesh is a block to rival mirrodin in stupid levels of good card synergies. Because this makes for about the third infinite combo I've seen involving kaladesh cards.

Whatever you do, do not let that Ravenous Intruder get to your Sol Ring like in the art.

JohnnyBoyG says... #18

Scrap Trawler is strictly better than Workshop Assistant here.

January 16, 2017 11:58 a.m.

TenaciousKey says... #19

... By George, you're right. I neglected to notice that it was a 3-drop. Someone get this person a cookie.

Here JohnnyBoyG, have a cookie.

January 16, 2017 12:21 p.m.

I don't quite understand why Ornithopter comes back to your hand if they just pay three life. Could someone explain it to me?

January 16, 2017 5:44 p.m.

TenaciousKey says... #22

That's what makes them have to pay 3 life, to prevent the combo from happening. It's the threat of the infinite combo that forces them to take a ping, but then I just bring it back anyway.

Oooh the gift that keeps on giving, you made the first comment on my deck, so naturally I checked your stuff out... I love this deck, it will be built asap!!

Thanks again!! :)

January 16, 2017 7:34 p.m.

Cool build, very creative. +1

January 16, 2017 8:43 p.m.

Inventor's Apprentice is pretty aggro, and with the cheap artifacts you run it makes for a solid turn 1 play. Maybe add 2 and put 1 Key to the City in sideboard and eliminate the 4th.

January 16, 2017 8:45 p.m.

whompkin says... #26

Nice deck. I'd recommend adding a couple more lands to the deck and dropping black from the sideboard. 4 black sources isn't enough to reliably be able cast any black spells.

January 17, 2017 12:22 p.m.

UVAFoozle says... #27

Invigorated Rampage is enough evasion i think. I'd cut Key to the City for more land.

I also think Galvanic Bombardment is better than Shock here. Sure you can shock face, but you're going super heavy creature aggro. I think it'd be better to have the opportunity to kill bigger creatures.

But yeah I love trolly aggro standard decks. I might actually play this lol.

January 17, 2017 3:19 p.m.

Clockwurk says... #28

Shock counters saheeli combo so shock is probably better.

January 17, 2017 6:24 p.m.

Bueszien says... #29

Love this deck, but I feel it has a bit of weakness in the U/B control department. Maybe throw the Expertise in the sideboard for fatty matchups, and put a couple of Flame Lash in the main?

Interesting build, I ran upon it after I finished putting my list up here. Have you played it on paper yet? Any problems you're running into?

Here's my list: Grematog

January 24, 2017 12:01 a.m.

TenaciousKey says... #32

Only real issues I run into are the usual problems with board destruction and blue control spells. But I can reliably kill on turn 5-6 while also burning their blockers.

January 24, 2017 12:29 a.m.

MTGMoshe says... #33

I see. Trample and Key to the City have been underwhelming? Works pretty reasonable for me, as such I only bring in Shocks for Copy Cat.

Apparently my deck was also the second one of it's name; my personal list is Grematog.

February 3, 2017 4:52 p.m.

guessling says... #37

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have 2x Workshop Assistant (one in the graveyard eventually and one on the battlefield) with Ravenous Intruder, can you sac and re-cast?

February 12, 2017 9:18 p.m.

TenaciousKey says... #38

You can, but Scrap Trawler is more effective overall because the artifacts in the deck are all under 3 CMC. Workshop would be better overall for a more tempo deck.

stormhammer16 says... #39

Needs one drops like Inventors Apprentice and Bomat Courier

March 17, 2017 11:52 a.m.

stormhammer16 says... #40

Id replace giant spectacle with built to smash it makes sense because it gives a +3+3 trample instead of +2+1 menace

March 17, 2017 12:01 p.m.

Deputy_Cofax says... #41

stormhammer16 The problem with Built to Smash in this kind of deck is that you are primarily using the Ravenous Intruder for your damage, and since it isn't an artifact creature it doesn't get the trample from Built to Smash which means that the Giant Spectacle is better overall I think.

Great fun. Question: Any reason why you're running 62 cards?

March 26, 2017 10:28 a.m.

TenaciousKey says... #46

Just a weird quirk I have about building Magic decks.

March 26, 2017 11:16 a.m.

Side board is only 12 cards?

March 31, 2017 6:27 p.m.

lonker says... #48

Why are there only 12 cards in sideboard? And why are there 62 cards in the deck? All can be easily changed.

March 31, 2017 6:30 p.m.

TenaciousKey says... #49

No really good ideas have appeared yet. And 62 is just fine~

March 31, 2017 6:33 p.m.

ComboCrazy says... #50

I would cut out Kari Zev, Skyship Raider for some better late-game beat down, preferably something sackable to gremlins... I'm thinking maybe Fleetwheel Cruiser... or perhaps cut them altogether to even out the deck to just 60 cards, given you're running 62.

This is absolutely amazing, though, it looks hilarious to play! Congrats getting to #1, as well.

April 11, 2017 1:15 p.m.

ComboCrazy says... #51

Another thing about Kari-Zev is that she's two mana... removing her would even that out a little bit. The curve on this deck is as jank as the rest of it, lol

April 11, 2017 1:18 p.m.

TenaciousKey says... #52

This deck is so jank. It's so very very janky. But it's hilarious to play against the current meta. Kari can go or stay, I use her because of the monkey which is an additional target for Invigorated Rampage and adds pressure for defenders. I'm open to ideas though.

April 11, 2017 3:15 p.m.

ComboCrazy says... #53

I would argue she actually hurts your strategy with Invigorated Rampage. Think about it, would you rather have your one 9/10 gremlin gain trample or your 1/3 and 2/1? It's the same total stat boost, so I'd probably give it to the gremlin, and kari actually makes it less likely you draw them, given you are using 62 cards, so I'd cut it. That may just be me, though. If it works, keep it. Anyway, good luck with the deck!
