It might not be a bad idea to use card:Avacyn's Pilgrim as a Birds of Paradise that taps for colorless mana.
Have you tried Mana Bloom ?
Mana Bloom hadn't really thought of since i can only get one extra mana (though i DID initially think about card:Druids' Repository)
should i mainboard Predator Ooze and Rancor ? If so, what do I take out? Boundless Realms is coming out of sideboard and I think I'm replacing it with Wolfir Silverheart
I'd take out the Mayor for the Ooze and then like, 3 forests for Rancor s.
Well then, go with 20 Lands, replacing the lands with Predator Ooze and then take out 1 Craterhoof Behemoth , 1 Somberwald Sage , and 1 Gilded Lotus for 3 Rancor . In all honesty you have so much ramp in here you have too much o_o
Also, put some stuff in your sideboard that'll help you in case of bad matchups, like Naturalize , Revenge of the Hunted , etc.
I just finished playtesting your deck a couple of times. I didn't play it against another deck, I just tried to see how fast I could get to 20 damage with reasonable creatures (like not attacking with 1/1's on turn 4 because they'd probably die). I feel like the deck just runs out of gas by turn 4. If I didn't see the Behemoth until turn 6 or 7, I felt like I probably would have been dead or chump blocked away all the tiny creatures so that Behemoth lost all of its value.
My thoughts: The deck needs some sort of draw or deck manipulation, and targeted removal. Also, possibly ramp in the form of creatures to thin the deck to promote drawing spells.
Suggestions: You could add in Garruk Relentless Flip for token generation and creature removal, and his flip side will let you tutor for Behemoths. You should main deck a couple Rancor so that Wild Beastmaster has more synergies with the deck. You could add in some Borderland Ranger for deck thinning and improved draws, and put in Strangleroot Geist for more early turn pressure (the perfect scenario: Turn 1 Arbor Elf, Turn 2 Strangleroot Geist and Rancor). Also, Predator Ooze wouldn't be bad either. You could use those in place of Strangleroot Geist if that's more your style.
I'm going to suggest an alternate deck list, and I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. I'm not saying I think it's better than your deck, I'm just addressing the things I would change after playtesting to try to improve on the areas where I feel like your deck has room to improve (to shore up it's weaker match-ups). I would like for you to take a look at it and compare it to what you're currently running, and then let me know what you think of the suggested changes. Maybe they make the deck worse? Maybe parts of it are worse and some are better? Do you think running 3 of multiple spells make the deck more inconsistent than running 4 of fewer spells? These are the kind of questions I'd like to here what you think. I feel like if I know what you're thinking about the cards you like and dislike then I can make better suggestions. Also, do you have a budget for this deck?
4x Arbor Elf
4x Champion of Lambholt
3x Craterhoof Behemoth
4x Elvish Archdruid
4x Elvish Visionary
3x Mayor of Avabruck
3x borderland ranger
3x strangleroot geist (or 3x predator ooze )
3x wild beastmaster
3x garruk relentless (or run 2x garruks and 4x mayors)
3x rancor
23x Forest
The problems i see there is that your strategy seems to turn around Champion of Lambholt , but you have nothing else to help it. You also have WAYYY too much ramping considering you only have 1 creature worth ramping. Finally, i'd build an alternate strategy for when Champion of Lambholt can't stay on the field. Once your opponent caught up with your strategy, they'll play around Champion and work to keep it off the field, which would kill you game.
What i'd remove:1st: I'd take out most of your ramping: Elvish Archdruid and Somberwald Sage , keeping only the Arbor Elf .2nd: I'd cut out the number of Craterhoof Behemoth and Elvish Visionary . maybe keep only 2 visionary and 1 Behemoth.3rd: Mayor of Avabruck Flip doesn't have enough targets for it's anthem.
What i'd add:1st: You need Creatures that can make the most of Champion of Lambholt But are good on their own too. Undying is perfect for this. Young Wolf and Strangleroot Geist are good candidates. You also need one of top three best creatures in the format right now: Thragtusk 2nd: You need creatures that can take the game if Champion cannot. Predator Ooze is a monster that would fit this role.3rd: Garruk Relentless Flip or Garruk, Primal Hunter Would really fuel your deck with more creatures for Champion.4th: Rancor , 'nuff said.
Duly note that Garruk, Primal Hunter can also be used as a draw engine if need be.
