Grenzo is an amazingly fun commander that can smack your opponents up if you wanna beef him up or can cheeze out a bunch of friends with a little luck. In this deck, I've tried to balance it to be able to do either that I please. Even with just casting Grenzo for 2, his ability can potentially grab one of the 26 creatures with power 2 or less.

Grenzo Buffing Cards Show

Cards that buff Grenzo enable us to pull bigger creatures easier and race toward a commander damage lethal. The deck prioritizes buffs that can be shared among all creatures you control to allow your board to become extremely formidable with the right combination of creatures. Although there are many buffs that provide additional abilities to creatures you control, below are cards that specifically increase Grenzo's Attack to make his ability succeed more often.

Deck Stacking Cards Show

For obvious reasons, stacking the bottom of your deck is extremely powerful in this deck. It allows you to manipulate your success of Grenzo, Dungeon Warden effect and even allow nifty combat tricks if you know the creature on the bottom of your deck provides a buff for your board.

Thrumming Stone Explained Show

Some of you may have seen Thrumming Stone in the deck and thought me a madman. You are only half correct. It is true that Thrumming stone will never trigger its effect that allows you to play cards of the same name for zero cost (It's a commander deck, lul). BUT, what it does for Grenzo, Dungeon Warden is ingenious: EVERY time you cast any spell, you stack the bottom of your deck!

Aside from the cheeky rat or demon Commander decks running Relentless Rats, Rat Colony or Shadowborn Apostle, I feel a smidgen of pride knowing Grenzo, Dungeon Warden is probably the only deck that truly gets use out of Thrumming Stone. :D
