This is a straightforward Trostani, Selesnya's Voice lifegain and token deck. There's nothing I love to do more in a game of Magic than gain life, and Trostani's first ability lets me do that. Trostani's second ability also synergizes well with her first ability.

I prefer Trostani, Selesnya's Voice over Trostani Discordant because old Trostani was my first real commander. My first actual commander deck was Experiment Kraj , but it wasn't a good deck. I just threw every big green and blue card that I liked. Just seamonsters and elves. No card draw, no ramp, no boardwipes, just battlecruisers. My Timmy tendencies got the better of me.

I'd like to think I've grown a lot since then...

Anyways, this deck has some of the same cards as my original Trostani deck, but a lot are new. I have had a few chances to test this deck out, so here are some of the top performers in this deck so far:

Serra Avatar : Dropping the avatar with Trostani out automatically doubles your life! There's a few ways to grant the avatar lifelink, which will double your life again when he attacks.

Desolation Twin : With Trostani out, you gain twenty life and have a great populate target.

Sublime Archangel : I've found that I usually have about 4 other creatures in play when I cast the archangel. She's even better if you can populate more tokens later in the game and she has natural evasion.

Angel of Serenity : This angel is 3-for-1 spot removal attached to a great evasive creature. Even if someone kills AoS on the next turn, the cards you exile with AoS go back to your opponent's hands and not the battlefield.

Wall of Reverence : This wall combo's really well with all of the other creatures mentioned in this 'top performers' list, especially Serra Avatar .

True Conviction : While giving all creatures lifelink is great for a lifegain strategy, the double strike is even more powerful. First, it doubles the amount of life you gain from lifelink. Second, you'll be able to kill a lot of your opponent's creatures quickly.

Odric, Master Tactician : Odric is sneaky good. You'll almost always have at least three other creatures to trigger Odric's control of combat. It's a versatile ability that can help you kill off your opponent's threats OR you can just attack unopposed.
