This is not the typical bounce, reanimate, clone, or myriad Gonti deck. This is BIG MANA paradox engine Gonti, Lord of Luxury. This is kill all 3 opponents in the same turn Gonti. This is out ramping most green decks Gonti. This deck intends to ramp so hard that Gonti will never get too expensive from the commander zone tax. I chose Gonti, Lord of Luxury to command this black/artifact ramp deck because Gonti can steal answers from opponents to really smooth over the weaknesses of playing a mono-color deck. Black has notoriously weak enchantment removal but if you have any opponents playing green or white you have a high chance to find & steal answers to enchantments. The big mana win conditions are Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or a properly timed Bond of Agony. Those kill all opponents at the same time but there are a number of ways to shoot down individuals with Maga, Traitor to Mortals, Aetherflux Reservoir, or Profane Command. And every commander player has been killed by Gray Merchant of Asphodel at some point (Gary really deserves some promo art for all the commander players who have died to his ETB trigger). The combo-kill Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood is easy to include in mono-black. The advantage mono-black has over other ramp strategies are the unconditional tutors. This deck always wants Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Deserted Temple, Paradox Engine, Aetherflux Reservoir, & Mirage Mirror on the table. They grab your win conditions when you have properly set up a boardstate. And they can grab a few silver bullets such as Erebos, God of the Dead to stop lifegain, Consuming Vapors to annoy a Voltron opponent, or Boseiju, Who Shelters All to force your win conditions through counterspells. The rest of the deck is card draw with the price tag of some life. Greatness at any cost!
