Introducing Hazed and Confused

The Prismatic Bridge: Hazed and Confused is a deck that focuses on abusing the upkeep step as much as possible. Within the deck is 60 (counting Paradox Haze,Estrid's Invocation and the commander The Prismatic Bridge  ) different cards that have the text "at the beginning of your upkeep" making for some very interesting and sometimes confusing games.

My deck is Upkeep Tribal.

I've always wanted to build a 5 color deck, but I wanted to do it differently, this is because far too often I feel like many five color decks are very redundant and lack originality and creativity.

When building this deck I looked at a bunch of other EDH upkeep decks for inspiration and I realized that they all seem to barely push the needle for how many "upkeep" cards are included in the deck. I wanted my deck to be balls to the wall in terms of the "upkeep". My deck has 60, That is over half of the entire deck! I have yet to see another EDH upkeep deck that runs more.

Honestly, I want to add more upkeep cards, but I feel I have the best ones in the deck already, and I cannot justify taking out the many ways I can copy Paradox Haze in the deck.

Below are some tips on piloting the deck.

Token Making

Personally the upkeep token makers in this deck are my favorites cards to get out because they can become a problem for the table very quickly and I love having blockers. The token makers I've included in this deck are Assemble the Legion, Awakening Zone, Bitterblossom, Bringer of the Green Dawn, Creakwood Liege, Dragonmaster Outcast,Honden of Life's Web, Luminous Angel, Master of the Wild Hunt, Mirror-Sigil Sergeant, Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, Dragon Broodmother, Koma, Cosmos Serpent, Outlaws' Merriment, Nut Collector, Tendershoot Dryad, Skyline Despot, Verdant Force, Court of Grace, Queen Marchesa, Wolverine Riders, Koma, Cosmos Serpent, Beledros Witherbloom and Ophiomancer.

Card Advantage

I think many of us can agree that card advantage is one of the most important aspects to magic the gathering. Many cards that grant card draw trigger on the upkeep, that is why I have included the following cards Bringer of the Blue Dawn, Honden of Seeing Winds, Phyrexian Arena, Twilight Prophet, Graveborn Muse and even Deadbridge Chant can be argued to be card advantage.

Life Gain

Life gain, while not the most important part of magic, it is still nice to have a way to gain life and feel safer in the games. That is why I've included the following cards. Honden of Cleansing Fire,Twilight Prophet, and Gerrard Capashen.

Where's the Removal?

As you are probably noticing, there is not much removal in this deck. A wise friend once said "My deck is all questions and no answers" and I decided to follow that when I built this deck.

World Queller while alone is half decent, the only issue is that it effects your own board too. But when World Queller and Dominus of Fealty are both in play you can order the stack to take ANY permanent (including lands) from any opponent and then trigger World Queller to sacrifice their own things that you just gained control of with Dominus of Fealty. With multiple upkeeps from Paradox Haze this can be a brutal combo.

Additionally, Honden of Infinite Rage + Form of the Dragon Can handle some creatures through targeted damage.

Lastly, Capricious Efreet also allows some rng removal, but it can also bite you in the ass! That's why you always target a token.

Updates Add

On top of the mana great cards that have came out for this deck such as (The Prismatic Bridge  Flip, The World Tree, and Koma, Cosmos Serpent)

There have been more leaks for 2 more cards that have GOT to go in this deck. The cards have not been added to Tapped out yet, but I will past their abilities.

The next card from Kaldheim I am adding is:

In Search of Greatness

It's GG for an enchantment that reads "At the beginning of your upkeep, you may cast a permanent spell from your hand with converted mana cost equal to 1 plus the highest converted mana cost among other permanents you control without paying its mana cost. If you don't, scry 1."

This card is going to really stand out in this deck, there are already a few ways to cheat things out with cards like Aether Vial + As Foretold and I think this card will make a great addition.

The next card I am adding is Wolverine Riders

It's 4GG for a creature that reads "At the beginning of each upkeep, create a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token. Whenever another Elf enters the battlefield under your control, you gain life equal to its toughness."

This card is going to be some great life gain, and additionally it's a token maker (my fav type of upkeep card). This card will work nicely with Nath of the Gilt-Leaf too.

The cards I've decided to cut are Keeper of Keys (I feel like it's too scary of a card for my opponents to see) and Enduring Ideal, without Golos anymore I don't really see myself paying so much mana to use this card, it was great when Golos could cast for free.
