God-Pharoahs' Gift deck, tried running it with a Sultai version, and it just doesn't work right. Too many double blacks, and or double whites. I wanted to play the Sultai version for The Scarab God , Noxious Gearhulk , and Kalitas traitor of Get

I Switched to a straight U/W version, for the self mill of Champion of Wits , Strategic Planning , and Minister of Inquiries . Two color mana base is much smoother than a three color mana base. I have blended Brennan DeCandio's and Seth Mansfield's version to make my own meld of this deck.

It's fun, it's fast, and works very well.

I would love to hear from others playing their versions, and how they fair against the meta, especially Ramanup Red, Red Eldrazi, and Mardu.

Monday Night Standard — Aug. 8, 2017

Went 2-2 on the night. Forgot my Authority of the Consuls for my sideboard, so that was costly. Thinking about adding 3x Spell Quellers for some more removal, since Mausoleum Wanderer doesn't usually get large enough to stop an instant spell.

First Match 0-2 Horse Token Lone Rider life gain. First game I mulled to six, kept a packed land hand, and mana flooded. It was over very quickly once he flipped the lone rider on turn two.
Game two of the match ended pretty much the same way, but I was mana hosed. This is a problematic deck for me, and i'm below 50% against it.

Second Match 2-0 Mono Black Eldrazi Zombies. I got the God Pharoah engine out on turn four, and started smashing with 4/4 flyers. He conceded at turn 6. Game two of the match he boarded in Dispossess and removed all of my God Pharoah's Gifts...So that's how it's gonna be. I hung tight, and kept Gearhulking and Angeling him to death. I won game two pretty much in mid game. Good to know the deck can win w/out the G'Pharoah's gift.

Third Match 0-2 R/B Superfriends. Meaning Liliana and Chandra.I don't really remember much of this match, I know Abrade shut my G'Pharoah's Gift down, and pretty much wrecked the gear hulks, and Grasps and Fatal Pushes did the rest. He had Kaitas and Ammit Eternals pretty much did all the work.

Fourth Match 1-0 This was a marathon game against a Thalia/Gideon life gain deck, which seem to be popping up left and right. It took forever to get this win at time, and I was actually down 50 something to 14. Never panicked, cards started falling, and he had no answer for the God Pharoah's Gift once it got started. Must learn to play faster tho.

All in all, first matches in paper. The deck plays a bit slower in paper than online. I think I need to put Spell Quellers in here somewhere to counter the Abrades, Fatal Pushes, Grasps and other small nuisances. Maybe a sideboard card, switching with Thrabens or Wanderers.
