I originally built the deck with flyers because flyers worked well with Zedruu since my opponent cant simply chump block away all my gifts. The dragon theme fits the deck quite well (red flyers) sure you could stuff your deck with "actual good flyers" Consecrated Sphinx, Baneslayer Angel or Platinum Angel. And sure you could use "an actual good general who has any synergy with dragons at all" Bladewing the Risen, Silumgar, the Drifting Death or Scion of the Ur-Dragon, But then you couldn't run stuff like Steel Golem, Thought Lash or Pyromancer's Swath. In the end, when you give an opponent Illusions of Grandeur you know who has won. (probably still the opponent since you'd be running cards like Icefall Regent over something like Iona, Shield of Emeria).
