Description

Can you imagine it, winning a game with GOATS? Just an attempt at some mass-production goats. Tested a few times, pretty good.Win conditions are Mirror Entity making all goats huge and swinging, or dropping Furystoke Giant and turning all your creatures into a free Shock.

this is kickass. it would be cool if you could make it work faster, such as finding ways to get the card you want into your hand earlier instead of depending on luck of the draw. that's the only problem i can see, and its not even that big, since almost all the creature cards can handle themselves without the main combo

Thanks for the advice! I added a couple very good WW cost cards, and some Soul Warden 's which i think is going to make this deck sky rocket. Cant wait to test it.

Have you considered Trading Post for even more goats?

Best Deck Evar. Me and my friends discussed sacrificing goats to satan to win the game before. (on going joke with his religious dad who worries about what MTG is) I guess this win con is the next best thing.

And Trading post would be good. If 2 hit the field without any honor the pure/Furystoke Giant and all your goats didn't have a win con you could loop the 2 artifacts between last two abilities to help find those win cons. Also the pay one life and one mana thing for a goat becomes irrelevant with soul warden out,

@Thomaster22: I looked at Trading Post , was semi intrigued. Not sure what it would displace at the moment.

he sacrifices goats to springjack pasture

Springjack Pasture saccing the goats gets me the red mana, although I admit it is a bit inconsistent. I'm hesitant to add mountains because of the number of WW creatures. Sacred Foundry is on my "to add" list, for sure.

I made a modern goat deck quite some time ago, because winning with goats is the best thing ever: Goat Token Deck v0.8. Since you're going red, you might want to consider using Nobilis of War because it gives you 5 hybrids symbols with white in them, boosting chroma a fuckton.

Let me tell you, get rid of Springjack Pasture . It's awful. It's so awful. I know it goes with the goat theme, but like Trading Post , it was too bad to make work. You'll never want to spend 4 mana (plus the pasture tapping) making ONE GOAT, and there's better ways to get the colored mana you want. Trading Post was bad because each ability taps it, making it incredibly slow for the amount of goats you want to manipulate.

The reason I use Soul's Attendant instead of Soul Warden is the word "may" in there. It allows me to choose not to gain life if it were ever a problem, like maybe a black deck punishing me for every lifegain events as Rain of Gore does. It's a small but existent reason to why Soul's Attendant is actually strictly better.

I love your Furystoke Giant in there. It's a great, consistent win-condition with the goats out, it seems.

I don't see why you have Knight of the Holy Nimbus there. It looks like a good card, sure, but it doesn't really contribute to the rest of your deck. I would consider replacing those four card slots with Cloudshift , because you can use it defensively to save something else, or you can use it to flicker your Springjack Shepherd for more goats.

@GrunniThanks for the feedback! like Springjack Pasture because of it's life gain. I've never used it's 2nd ability, because I agree, it sucks. But being able to sacrifice X goats for X life has saved me several times.Nobilis of War sounds like a great 2nd win condition. Sort of an amped up Honor of the Pure .I don't need Cloudshift . Kithkin Harbinger finds me shepherds, and Flickerwisp flickers AND gives the +2 chroma, so I'm never short on goats. And I dont need the combat trick/ creature save because by the time anything is on the field, I'll have a substantial amount of goats, ready for my win condition.

Being paranoid and silly, I'd want some protection from board wipe damage, etc. Therefore, Mark of Asylum . Or some instant that can protect your goats. I dunno. Also, first.

Hey there I noticed your deck here after scanning through decks similar to one I was editing.

I noticed a card while a doing a little research and basically my question is would it be worth it to play Consul's Lieutenant instead of Hearthfire Hobgoblin?

I know you want more white mana symbols for the chroma effect on Springjack Shepherd but I just feel Consul's Lieutenant is good enough to replace one or two of the Hearthfire Hobgoblin. I love the double strike on a 2/2 but the 2/1 for 2 plus first strike Renown 1 and a great renown effect for a wide swing win con!

Let me know what you think.
