GMC - Golgari Midrange Control.

This is a deck that tries to answer all threats thrown at it by the opponent by using a flood of strong removal to keep the board clear until I can stick a threat in the form of Reaper of the Wilds with backup from Polukranos, World Eater. Once that is done, we start going to town and winning the game. Courser of Kruphix and Sylvan Caryatid are both very useful to making sure that we can get to the end game by providing blockers and making sure we have the mana we need and can keep lands off of the top of the deck.

Dredge. Freaking Dredge. I need to figure out what I want to do for the next time I play this. Came up against this deck twice in a row and went 0-2 both times. I almost started to come back in the first match for a game 3, but lost to the topdeck.

Round 1: 2-0 vs UB Mill

Almost lost Game 1 to the damage of a Consuming Aberration. Game 2 I managed to keep everything scary off the board.

Round 2: 0-2 vs GB Dredge

Lost 2 games in a row to this, with an almost stabilization Game 2 before he topdecked a Herald of Torment with enough mana to bestow to go over my guys.

Round 3: 0-2 vs GB Dredge

I have serious problems against this deck. Also, Devour Flesh on a large Nighthowler just kinda sucks.

Round 4: 2-0 vs UR Hypersonic Dragon/Spellheart Chimera

Hypersonic Dragon is a very scary card to play against with no hard removal that is big enough in hand for it. He almost got Game 1 before I started to stabilize and come back.

On the night, I went 2-2. I need to do something about decks that are running larger creatures than I have removal for. I'm considering switching a Bile Blight for the Putrefy that's in the sideboard with larger creatures becoming the norm at my LGS.
