It's a Modern army deck. Basically, it's many ways to make the army unblockable. That's pretty much it's one trick.

The main synergy, as the title implies, is between Gleaming Overseer and Silent Arbiter, although Angrath, Captain of Chaos works with the Arbiter as well. In either case, the army is unblockable, but it's somewhat better to have the Overseer because of the hexproof.

I've chosen to approach the deck as predominantly noncreature based, so I included Curious Homunculus   for ramp, and Bloodwater Entity and Kess, Dissident Mage, so that I can recast the many amass spells. A little Izzet influence in Grixis, if you will. I previously was running Dralnu, Lich Lord, but his downside got me more than once, and I honestly feel like Kess is all-around better.

Crush Dissent is very iffy to me. I really feel like it slows down the deck, and is a dead spell when it comes up on the cascade from Bituminous Blast. However, I also feel like the deck needs some way to counterspell, since the bulk of the removal and burn only deals with creatures. I have ran Toll of the Invasion in here as well for the same reason, and I'm considering either swapping out Dissent for that, or just not worrying about either and using the space for a third Callous Dismissal and a third Homunculus.

Also, Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God, because I'm in Grixis and why the f would I not?
