This is a variant on my last emerge deck, Give a Man a Mask V_1_BUG. The main alterations are as follows: Removal of black (Distended Mindbender and Ultimate Price) in an attempt to improve consistency and to try out Hedron Crawler. After realising Hedron Crawler would be a nice addition and support my contingency plan (beat down with medium sized eldrazi).

The core turn structure is slightly different in this deck, the goal is no longer necessarily to rush out an emerge creature on turn 4 but instead to use their high impact cast effects to support a front line of eldrazi beaters (Matter Reshaper, Thought-Knot Seer and Reality Smasher).

Elder Deep-Fiend is the most exciting in terms of its versatility. You can use its flash ability to cause combat or removal blow outs. You can bring it in on your opponents end step to clear the way for a lethal swing on your next turn. Or my favorite of all, you can flash it in on your opponent's upkeep tapping down their mana and denying them a turn; this seems particularly effective if you know your opponents deck and what turns are important for it. For example against a Collected Company deck on the play you could do this on their 4th turn tapping down 3 lands and a creature preventing them from casting company or anything else for that matter.
