Modern Boros Control based on Ghostly Prison and Assemble the Legion. Can also win through Form of the Dragon and Phyrexian Unlife or token generators and Purphoros, God of the Forge. Alternatively, can shut down opponent with Curse of Exhaustion and Possibility Storm

This deck requires some knowledge of both the local metagame and the modern metagame at large as naming the right card with Runed Halo is the key to protection. If you see Ad Nauseam, name Lightning Storm. If you see Search for Tomorrow, name Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. If you see Restore Balance, name Greater Gargadon. If you see Serum Visions, name Grapeshot first, then Pestermite and Deceiver Exarch. Also use it fairly to stop Wild Nacatl or Tarmogoyf. Do not name Geist of Saint Traft, his angel is where most of the damage comes from.

Try to save the Halo if possible. Run out Suppression Field and Ghostly Prison early. Lightning Bolt early creatures. Run out Mind Stone if they don't have a board presence and aren't doing anything. Ideally you want to throw down the halo right before they try to kill you so that hopefully they've invested time and resources into a dead end. But if the halo is needed early against aggro or burn, throw it down early to try to stop them. It can be hard and the Halo will miss a lot. If it's zoo, name Tarmogoyf. If it's Affinity, name Etched Champion or Inkmoth Nexus. Against burn, just name Lightning Bolt, then probably either Bump in the Night or Boros Charm depending on their colors.
