Description

Black Blue Mill

Hedron Crab mills with every land drop, that's why I have extra fetches.

Jace's Phantasm and Wight of Precinct Six get buffed when things are in the graveyard so they're my only beaters.

otherwise it's mostly instants and sorceries to get milling going as fast as possible. Countersquall main board for when I really need the last push, but stuff in the side to help me with different types of decks. Damnation for aggro, Flight for fatties, Relic of Progenitus for Eldrazi, Surgical Extraction for combos.

I need help deciding which mill is the best.

Good ol' mill decks! My only suggestions would be, based on fraying sanity, run a one of Traumatize that way if you do get a fraying sanity out, it's a 1 card win.

If you're feeling like going more creature based, then Manic Scribe is actually a suurprising killer card.

if you want more mill, Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver can be really punishing to your enemies.

Mind Grind is a dope finisher, especially against decks that run a low amount of lands like elves.

Surgical Extraction and/or Extirpate are also incredible. Mill the threat or counter it, then remove all of them.

With the damnation in sideboard, i'd probs run 2, maybe even 3 depending on your local meta. But a sneaky as card that goes well with awesome combos is Bitter Ordeal

I'd honestly cut flight,, pilfered plans, and the tome scour. And perhaps put in SOME counter spells - remember not to be too hard on the counters as you are a mill deck first - in places like this, if you have enough control over the board, you could use Quash or something like this.

I hope I helped! Any more tips or such, message! My first modern deck was a mill deck and it's awesome fun

Have you considered running something like Mesmeric Orb it will mill you but can really cripple your opponent if they are trying to kill you quickly.

I absolutely love your well thought out response. Thank you :D

I have a few of those cards in my maybe board as I think I might work them in, but I'm not sure how. And on your, and my husbands recommendation I've gotten rid of Pilfered Plans lol I liked it at first :P I'm on the fence with Tome Scour but if I get rid of it then it will probably be for the Manic Scribe which looks awesome! I hadn't seen it before and it could fit perfectly, much like the Bitter Ordeal. Zomgah that works so nicely with uh...everything?

It reads "for each permanent put into the graveyard this turn" it doesn't specify from the battlefield (though I re-upped the Damnation to 2 again anyway), so I may be wrong but if not then that with Glimpse the Unthinkable would be a nice finisher.

Anytime :D

I gave it some time and came up with a different approach at the same idea if you're interested? Mill - Revisitng Hopefully that links.

Also to fix up any confusion with Bitter Ordeal, Grave storm happens when a PERMANENT is gone to the grave, to be classified as a permanent it must have existed on the field to begin with - now you see why it combos with damnation. hell, even if someone wrath's your side of the board, end of turn instant this bad boy in

Super points if you decide to use Sanity Grinding although i strongly recommend against it

Blah, I was at work when I saw Bitter Ordeal and I got too excited to see permanents. Oh well. But I think I might try Perplex and see how that works out.

Fataliny I would use perplex as a soft tutor for your fraying insanity. But in doing so DOES mean that they see what might be coming next as you need to reveal it
