Genies and Wishes

Commander / EDH*

Genie deck. There are rings, lamps, genies and elementals that are like genies (air/fire/etc), there is slavery, betrayal, seeking treasure, thieves (like aladdin) copying of the dead (because efreets are said to born of the blood of the murdered). efreets, sand storms and sand stuffs, caves, ruins, etc.

the wishes are to grab stuff in the sideboard. they're meant to be super huge wishes so i picked extremely high mana cost cards or the kind of thing that people would wish for with a genie.

there be some wizards and that's ok flavor wise if i stretch the part where people believed that people who did magic were really just people with genies that performed the magic for them. also...Jafar.

deck works by playing big stuff and copying wish cards. i tried my best to put in utility genies/efreets/elementals/devils. and some thieves help draw.

How to play:

1) A lot of your creatures aren't very powerful but they have ok stats. That's not something people want to attack into, especially if you're not a threat. People will focus on more powerful players who are up to something or players who have no defense.

2) There are useful utility spells in the deck. Like aladdin is really good for mana rocks or whatever powerful artifact your opponent's play. Stealing and copying creatures can keep you alive and not completely defenseless.

3) Copying your wishes isn't completely necessary. But it's nice. And the sideboarded cards are, though thematically high in mana cost, very powerful and can win you the game. So make as many wishes as you can. Or copy the sideboarded spell/creature you wished for. If you're able to grab a bunch of them and was able to get omniscience, you pretty much win.

4) Ring of three wishes is really good. It'll find answers or allow you to get your wishes/copyspell/etc. And the Djinn of Wishes is regularly good. And Maelstrom Wanderer always is a huge help to stabilize.

5) Aladdin's Lamp is trash. You'll never be able to cast it. And when you can, you'll want to cast something else. But it's just too flavorful to take out. So, it's just a bad luck draw. DEAL WITH IT!

6) Reverse the Sands is surprising extremely powerful especially with Platinum Angel. Form of the Dragon is there for flavor mostly. Same with Vitalizing Wind. But hey, you never know when you're in a position when you need to pump a bunch of stuff at instant speed or when you really need to be a dragon.

7) The general is good for politics and it's flexibility is also great for evening out the deck's obvious flaws. Especially by gaining life to keep you alive and drawing when you are trying to get your wishes.
