I was thinking of More ways To get my angels uit early And after experimenting a long time with quicksilver amulet i think that extra planar lens is beter. However i still need ways To make sure that i het lots of plains, thats why i have knight of The white orchid And gift of estates And partly path To exile. Im not sure if gift of estates is The beat card for This atm, since im also running knight of The white orchid. I have found some Other cards that might be Nice for This (cant link cause im on my phone And cant het To a PC anytime soon) safewright Quest, endless horizons, flagstones of trokair and weathered wayfarer. What do you guys think of these cards? Are some of The beter than gift of estates/knight of The white orchid? Let me know, i would be very happy To know what you guys think!

Try Snow-Covered Plains with Extraplanar Lens instead of just basic Plains; they'll look nicer with your Angels, and more applicably, most other opponents will not be able to ramp along with you. If you face another white deck, they may be savvy enough to take advantage of the fact that Extraplanar Lens does not care which controller is tapping a Plains for mana...

Yeah thats true but Snow-Covered Plains isnt legal in modern is it? I play this deck mostly casual but I do often go to small tournaments for modern.

BTW, Snow-Covered Plains is in fact legal in Modern. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise; call a judge if you have to. Coldsnap is set within an older block that is technically legal in Modern; just like Martyr of Sands is legal for a Soul Sisters deck, you can use the Snow-Covered basics if you please.

Oh wow, i actually went and checked it on the mtg official site and its true! thank you so much, i was convinced that it wasnt legal! In that case Snow-Covered Plains is indeed way better than normal Plains with Extraplanar Lens

Hey, interesting deck. Just FYI, Akroma, Angel of Wrath is not modern legal. I would consider running Wall of Omens for some draw and early board presence.

I feel like you could really use more lands in deck perhaps just adding 2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and dropping 2 creatures.

@ masteryoda02 Thanks for the suggestion! thats actually a really interesting card. I think my early game is probably good enough as it is now, however as I discussed in my latest update i might be removing my Knight of the White Orchid and if I do Wall of Omens might actually be a very good replacement. However there are a few other cards that im considering (see latest update).

@ ArchFline Thanks for your suggestion! Do you really think I need more lands in this deck? yeah 20 in such a pretty greedy deck is not much but i have a lot of cards to fetch those lands, i.e. Weathered Wayfarer, Extraplanar Lens, Endless Horizons and to an extent Path to Exile. I really like the land you suggested but Plains are very important in this deck, do you think its worth it to take out 2 Plains or 2 other cards?

I do think you could use the extra land even with the extra draw as you go have some high drops but it is not absolutely necessary, although I do heavily recommend the Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx as you have an incredible devotion to white which would allow you to ramp quickly especially given that Weathered Wayfarer can even grab it.

ArchFline After what you said in your last 2 comments i've decided to put 2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx in and removing 1 Celestial Mantle and my Angel of Serenity. So I have a total of 22 lands now. Thanks for your suggestions, I really appreciate it.

Hi, Nice deck. Consider Herald of War to play some angels sooner.

It could make a good combo with Archangel of Thune giving the +1/+1

@ lomby Thanks for your suggestions! Yeah i considered Herald of War a long time ago but you kinda need to build your deck around it, because often you can reliably attack with a 3/3 in turn 6 (since it doesnt have haste) so you cant build +1/+1 counters that way. You would need to get a lot of other cards that give +1/+1 counter for example the Archangel of Thune you mentioned. But that would still make it pretty slow. So I rather go Extraplanar Lens among other cards to speed up my deck. Really appreciate your suggestions!

Whats a better name for this deck? I honestly can't think of one. Its "Immense Amounts Of Mana, Immensely Strong Angels" Now but im not sure if thats a nice name. I kinda want it to be something with angels and the fact that it produces a lot of mana. Oh and just FYI, those pictures in the description are a product of my amazing windows Paint skillzzzzzzz. they took a lot longer to make than you think.....

You could rename the deck to "Generator Angel" as you generate lots of mana and have Angels :P

Devout Invocation could have a place in this deck!!

You get an upvote from me: it's pretty awesome coming up with a white mana-ramp deck and running angels!

Curious how well Luminarch Ascension has worked for you, I used to play it in my Angel's deck here but found myself hard-pressed in one-on-one games to go four turns in a row without loosing life. I eventually swapped it out and only use it during multi-player games now. Luminarch also appealed to me since it was a relatively cheap way to get otherwise expensive Angel's onto the battlefield. Since you don't really have a mana problem with this deck, I would consider swapping it out for something in your maybeboard.

Well done, though!

Sunseed Nurturer could be fun but I feel like Gold Myr could do the job better although the life is nice.

Use Snow-Covered Plains instead of basic Plains, as if you use your Extraplanar Lens with basic Plains, you will affect the mana pools of opponent's (potential) plains.

And right after posting that. i noticed people already pointed it out xD

I playtested in a casual (not serious competitive player) 5-player free for all and with Entreat the Angels and Nykthos with around 20 cards (Including Admonition Angel and Avacyn), Extrasolar lens on the plains, i ramped up 37 tokens dreadfully quickly and wiped three of the five out within 2 turns (especially as Archangel of Tithes severely clamped down their fields)

amazing deck, +1

Thank you so much Pyrezz! Yeah I should change to Snow-Covered Plains however, I feel like its maybe a bit of a cheap trick? But the main reason im not switching yet is budget reasons. I still dont even have all the cards of this deck yet haha, still need the 3 Admonition Angels!

Hey! just wanted to say that i really like your deck!, i was already looking for a solid angel deck base, and what i found here is a lot better. You can use lots of angels, tokens included, and the expensive, overpowered ones, whithout having a shitty tribal deck that has all the mana curve wrong and cant see effective play. So i want to thank you for your efforts on building this deck (i might even build it). maybe Iona, Shield of Emeria for a fun spot for finishing your opponents hopes? who knows, anyways, keep up the good work!

Revedeka says... #25

Thanks ArTr! Yeah I get what you mean, I've spend a lot of times thinking of ways to get some mana acceleration since angels generally cost so much mana. However, with the cards I have now I got so much mana that I just filled the deck with cards. Yeah I've had Iona in one of my previous version of this deck, and probably should put it in my sideboard since you just win vs mono-coloured decks, Thanks for the suggestion!
