All right, I thought I'd try my hand at General Tazri. This is mainly a combo deck; very rarely do I plan to win by attacking.

Let's talk allies. The original Allies came in three variants: Fighters, clerics, and wizards. Fighters got +1/+1 counters upon allies entering. These weren't as important to me. I wanted few creatures that only affected themselves unless another, unique effect came with it. I ended up including Hada Freeblade as a nice one drop. If it ever comes out early, it'll be worth it. If not, it becomes a cheap rally trigger in the late game. Turntimber Ranger is technically a fighter, but it plays a big role, I'll get to that in a bit.

Clerics are a subset of allies that basically birthed the rally mechanic; they will buff either all allies or all creatures in some way. I only took the ones that offer a permanent buff, protection, or a win condition. Kazuul Warlord places a +1/+1 counter on each ally whenever an one enters. Hero of Goma Fada and Kabira Evangel offer protection. Chasm Guide and Firemantle Mage will let me swing in with ease especially after mass recursion.

Finally our wizards, they have an ETB effect that is dependent on the amount of allies you control. Bala Ged Thief , Murasa Pyromancer , Tajuru Archer , and Tuktuk Scraper offer various forms of control and removal. Ondu Cleric , another cheap option that can help stabilize my life total. Sea Gate Loremaster provides a massive amount of card draw.

Other allies that I didn't get to mention:

Beastcaller Savant and Harabaz Druid are my mana dorks. The latter adds mana equal to the number of allies you control.

Kalastria Healer and Zulaport Cutthroat are ways to drain opponents during gridlock, and no beaters can get through.

Munda, Ambush Leader is vital to the strategy. I don't care what allies on top of my library, I care about what Munda is putting on the bottom. With this deck it is imperative to know the order of the bottom of your library, Munda pays off when you have Tunnel Vision in your hand and you know exactly where you Living Death, Rally the Ancestors, or Patriarch's Bidding is. Once your library is filtered, so that you know there are no Allies beneath one of those three cards, you are set. This deck depends heavily on mass recursion, and dropping as many allies on the battlefield at once.

Once you drop one of your mass recursion cards, you can win in a variety of ways. There's about twenty-two allies in the deck. In magical Christmas land you can expect over twenty triggers of Halimar Excavator and Hagra Diabolist . You have X triggers of target player milling X cards of target player losing X life.

If you want to guarantee to not miss a creature with Patriarch's Bidding, Munda, General Tazri, etc. Conspiracy will make every creature you have in play or not in play an Ally. Tazri will get you any creature you want. Patriach's Bidding will recur every creature.

You know what Conspiracy also does? Makes Turntimber Ranger produce an insane amount of wolf (though now, technically ally tokens).

Other key cards include: Venser, the Sojourner, Brago, King Eternal, and Eerie Interlude. Included for their flickering effects.

Then there's various card draw, tutoring, mana rocks, and removal. I primarily wanted the signets from white guilds. Would like to be sure I can cast General Tazri.

The one thing that could absolutely disrupt this deck is Torpor Orb effects. Graveyard disruption would be difficult to work around but Conspiracy + Turntimber Ranger gets around that.

If anything seems out of place, please let me know. I'd love to discuss it. If you have suggestions for inclusions please suggest something to cut as well. This is a budget EDH deck. It something is listed over $10, it is because I already own a copy, I'd rather not spend more than $5 on a card. Let me hear your thoughts.

Updates Add

Had to take out Patriarch's Bidding because I can't find one in any local shops. Putting in a Pyrrhic Revival temporarily.

I don't like buying online, but will do it when I have more money.
