Long overdue deck that I wanted to put together. And now, finally it came around so this is it. Huge thanks to ShaperSavant for his great suggestions and help tuning this deck to most optimized version for competitive play.

Introduction

Food Chain has to be my favorite card ever and after playing Prossh and Sidisi, Tazri was a natural transition to most efficient deck. Fast combo with counters and removals is just so much fun to play so this is just a derivation of my staxy Najeela list.

Gameplan

As a fast combo deck, plan is to put Food Chain into play as soon as possible, with counter backup or protection and have one of the creatures that can be cast from exile to start making infinite mana. From there, it is easy to finish the game with one of the allies that will trigger from recasting Tazri.

Mindset behind the deck building

Primer list Shaper made is pretty much the pinnacle for this commander, and with lower budget, some pretty huge cuts had to be made and with it a few different things to play. Main plan is still the same. Get Food Chain combo out and kill your opponents. In place of some cantrips, deck plays Mindblade Render, who proved to be a bomb when played early. In a meta with heavy Pod and Hulk decks, Containment Priest is a great answer to stifle their plan. Key cards that will prove to be bread and butter the longer you play this deck are Foresight, Extract and Manipulate Fate. They serve as a tutors for the creatures that work with Food Chain and thin out the deck (a bit, but it counts, right?)

Ways to improve and fasten up the deck

With higher budget this deck can get really fast and brutal, for that.. just follow Shapers decklist, here:Food Chain Tazri, that is just awesome deck.
