Gelectrode Pauper EDH. Achieve card advantage and board control by chaining spells so that your diametrically opposing energies in self-sealed plasmodermic bubbles can repeatedly zap your opponent's face and creatures.

While Gelectrode might seem inferior to other Pauper Izzet commanders such as Izzet Guildmage and Nivix Guildmage, this weird weird has some tricks up its sleeve.

The two most important cards in the deck are Ophidian Eye and Quicksilver Dagger. By slapping them onto your commander, it'll turn into a pseudo-Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, filling your hand with spells which will in turn untap your commander over and over again. Drift of Phantasms is here to ensure you can find them.

Banishing Knack and Retraction Helix transform your Gelectrode into a bouncing-machine. Chain your many instants at the end of your opponent's turn to send all their creatures back to their hands. Sigil of Sleep works in a similar fashion, but you also get to keep pinging your opponent's face.

Frozen Solid and Ice Cage are especially good in this deck, because they'll often 2-for-1 your opponent. If they try to rescure their creature, you can simply zap it with Gelectrode to bring it down.

Gelectrode has a pitiful 1 toughness, so it needs protection. Alexi's Cloak, Diplomatic Immunity and Neurok Stealthsuit, combined with the amount of countermagic we're packing, will keep your Gelectrode safe. The many bounce and damage spells will keep his board empty to ensure we can keep slinging spells and pings at their face.
